1) INTRODUCTIONWrite Source is an effective guide that provides its readers with
useful tips, suggestions and instructions on how to write well. The book
makes its point of departure by pointing out the many reasons why
writing is good practice, stating that write enables the exploration of
personal thoughts, helps in understanding new ideas in a better and
more concrete way, facilitates the teaching and comprehension of new
ideas and concepts in the classroom and also helps people in expressing
ideas, thoughts, suggestions, reflections and feelings in the most
concrete way possible. What
Write Source essentially does is help
readers understand what the writing process is all about, points out the
various traits that are associated with effective writing abilities, mentions
how one can engage in effective and efficient writing practices with the
help of a computer, mentions how a good portfolio can be developed with
the help of good writing skills and finally points out the ways by which
writers can get their work published (Sebranek, Meyer & Kemper, 1995,
p3).

Write Source points out the many different ways by which good
writing habits can be developed in a person. For instance one of the ways
suggested in this writing guide is for a person to become a regular
reader in order to be able to get a better grasp of the vocabulary and the
grammar skills that need to be deployed in order to ensure good writing.
What the guide suggests is that a person should read just about anything
that they can get their hands on, be it books, magazines or even
newspapers and internet reading material in order to develop their
reading and writing skills in the best possible way. The Write Source also
points out that those who wish to improve upon their writing skills are
people who should practice writing on a regular basis, preferably daily.
People who want to improve writing skills should pen down their
thoughts and ideas or even feelings onto a piece of paper or in a laptop,
practicing writing in much the same way that they would learn another
skill, such as learning a musical instrument. The Write Source guide
suggests that one should practice writing before going to bed in the
night, probably because this is the time when one is relaxed and
comfortable. Write Source recommends that those who wish to improve
their writing skills should write on subject matters that interest them the
most (Sebranek, Meyer & Kemper, 1995).
