It is very important for every business organisation to manage its activities and different
functions in order to achieve the goals and objectives within the business enterprise. The human
resource management plays vital role in the development of the employees and as well as the
performance of the business organisation. It is very important for the human resource
management to manage its workforce in order to achieve goals and objectives in an effective and
efficient manner. The human resource department plays an important role in managing different
functions of the business organisation. This is the most important function of an business
organisation in order to achieve growth and success. This is the report in which the organisation
which is chosen is Tesco which is the multinational supermarket. the company is headquartered
in London, England. The Tesco is considered as the third largest retailer in the world. The
business organisation was established in 1929 by Jack Cohen. It has expanded globally with its
operations in 11 other countries (Garg, S., Sinha, S., Kar, A.K. and Mani, M., 2021). This report
will include various topic such as role of human resource function, effectiveness of recruitment
and selection, strategies to maintain organisational performance, approaches which is used to
manage talent linked to transnational performance and at last various HR system and procedures.
This is the report which will be including the discussion on the HR as a function and the role of
HR within the organisation so that the goals and objectives can be achieved in an effective and
efficient way. This will further include the various HR procedures and policies which can help
within the organisation. This will also include the different approaches of recruitment and
selection which need to be adopted by the company in order to be effective and efficient. Then
further it will include the various recommendations which have been suggested to the company

headquartered in Welwyn Garden City, England. It is considered as the third largest retailer in
the world. The organisation was established in 1919 by Jack Cohen. It has shops in five countries
across Europe and it is considered as the market leader of groceries in United Kingdom. There
are variety of products which is distributed by the company. The company has several sections

such as toys, food, clothing, groceries etc. this is the largest company in United Kingdom which
is famous for its quality of products and services. It is identified that Tesco is the leading brand
in London where there are variety of products available in the market. The company is well
established and has its own brand name. As the company has diversified into other areas such as
retailing of books, clothing, furniture, toys, financial services etc. the company is targeting to
attract the large range of social groups in order to achieve the objectives and goals in an effective
manner. It has been identified that the Tesco is a profitable business and can be successful by
adopting to the latest technologies in order to attract customers. (Macke, J. and Genari, D., 2019)
