Article - objective •Objective: •The objective of this research is to identify strategies for rethinking peer feedback and annual review for managing employee performance. •It wants to obtain ideas regarding how to apply these aspects to maximize efficiency of PMS. •Objective of this research is not only to obtain ideas for designing PMS, but to provide strategies to apply PMS to enhance employee performance as well.
Article - method An public survey was conducted for identifying how various organizations are applying PMSs in their respective organizations. Executives of those organizations questioned to identify their views on PMS and how they are applying this in their organizations. Issues were also identified through this survey so that it is possible to design an effective PMS. Along with this public survey, analysis of previous research works have been also considered for analysing how employee performance needs to be enhanced in designing PMS. To apply results of these previous research,60 high-performing teams, which involved 1,287 were identified and a representative sample of 1,954 employees was chosen. Along with this, a six-item surveywas considered as well.

Article - findings •According to the public survey, 58% executives who were questioned in this survey mentioned that their PMS is not capable of ensuring employee engagement and enhancing employee performance as well. These executives have suggested for a PMS that is nimbler, real-time and also individualized as well. •According to the internal survey,it was identified that some of the important aspects for enhancing employee performance are commitment of co-workers to quality work, mission of company that inspires employees and opportunity for employees to provide their best for doing their works assigned to them by organization and this is the most important aspect for enhancing employee performance as well.
Article - conclusion •Conclusion: Three of the most important aspects of a PMS is to recognize, analyse and enhance employee performance. However, in order to ensure that these objectives are obtained it is important to design a PMS that is simple and effective. In this article an different approach has been taken for designing PMS. Instead of assessing employee performance in past, this approach considers analysing employee performance in future to enhance employee performance. It has not considered rating system for evaluating employee performance as according to this research this is not an effective approach for assessing employee performance as well.

It has provided description regarding why PMS in organization is not always effective and what are some of those issues that affects quality of PMS. Along with this it has also provided description regarding strategies for designing PMS. These strategies according to this article will ensure that design and implementation of PMS is effective and efficient as well. Therefore, this article has provided information that are in accordance with topic of this week and therefore, it has contributed to this topic as well.
