INTRODUCTION
Personal and Professional development means that it is the way for the individuals to
identify their own skills and abilities by considering the aims of the individual in life and to
understand clearly and to maximize their true potential. To deliver the high quality wishing to do
one's work at a time when it is being stretched increasingly and many posts remains unfilled. The
continuous development in professional healthcare is an activity which promotes the learning
and development of individual and enhance the ability of workers to practice effectively and
safely (Мorozova and Kuzheleva, 2020). The purpose of the professional development in the
social and healthcare sector is to ensure to provide quality of care to their clients and patients to
receive the highest standard.
Thus, the report will evaluate the job roles of individual within the healthcare and social
provisions. The report will include the opportunities for further study in relation to social and
healthcare sector. Further, will understand how own personal development will reflect and how
to create, implement and review on own plans of personal development. Lastly, will understand
the need for continuing professional development in social and healthcare sector.

Research on the Job Roles within the Social and Healthcare Provisions
Jobs in the social and healthcare needs people having sympathy with excellent
interpersonal skills. This path is suitable for that person who wants to use its career in making a
real difference in people's lives. There are several careers in health and social care and each
career requires different skills but all they provide is emotional, physical and social support. To
provide a better quality of life healthcare roles focuses on the helping people to their physical
health with the social care looks by supporting physical or emotional people in the community
(Martin and et.al., 2022). The several job roles in social and healthcare sectors are:
Occupational Therapist
The people whose health affects the individual in doing different activities like getting
dressed or errands running, here the occupational therapist help this people. The occupational
therapists should need to be good at solving problems by working with others, meaning with the
social and healthcare of patients in the profession. To keep records carefully it requires IT skills,
and an individual will require occupational degree to become occupational therapist which could
be approved by the council of social and healthcare professions.

Senior Care Worker
Working as a care worker requires the physical and emotional demanding. Individual
working as a care worker will require to be good at working in own initiative and by managing
the time. It requires brilliant learning skills and was able to understand and to follow different
procedure and rules. An individual does not require any qualifications to become a care worker,
but though many employers were asked for GCSEs in maths and English (Schot, Tummers and
Noordegraaf, 2020). An individual doing apprenticeship can start career in working as a care
worker.
Rehab Worker
Rehab worker is not recognized more in health and social care, in this path rehab worker
help the people in living more independently who have got ill or met with an accident. Wide
range of peoples are supported by Rehab workers includes the adults having learning disabilities,
peoples having sight or hearing issue, mental health problem or drug misuse issues. To become a
rehab worker an individual requires a excellent communication skills and a sensitive
compassionate attitude.
Counsellor
Patients having a difficulty times in their lives, has lost a loved one recently or having a
long term disabilities are handled by the counsellor. Counsellor helps them in making positive
changes and improving the mental well-being of individual. The skills which requires to
counsellor includes the ability to put people at ease and top listening skills. To become
counsellor it also does not require any degree (Nasurdin, Ling and Khan, 2018).
Health Psychologist
Health psychologist peoples improves the awareness and attitude towards health of
people. They help the patients in making positive changes in their thinking and behavior. For
example, helping the individual in reducing alcohol and increase in healthy eating. For working
in this role individual will require a high critical thinking and research ability skills, and require
various qualifications, such as masters in health psychology to become a health psychology.
Social Worker
Social worker is one of the most popular in health and social career sector, social worker
helps the people and their families to live happier and more fulfilling lies. Social worker
encourage the people to live independently and to protect them from abuse or harm. An

individual will require a degree in social work which has been approved by the Health and Care
Professions Council and must have problem solving skills to become social worker.
Research on the Opportunities for Further Study in Healthcare and Social Sector
Many graduates enter into job where any degree were acceptable in UK, in this they
require that employer would competent with their developed academic study rather than specific
subject content in their degree. To consider a range of occupational areas it has been increased a
competition for graduate positions. Many careers required further study, training and work
experience beyond with the degree. There are a lot of careers within this sector, students can
employed in various areas depending on their skills, experience and qualifications. The examples
of such type of job opportunities include both graduate level and non graduate level. Job in
graduate roles are Health administration, social work, nursing, health therapies, care
management, community development, youth work and further education teaching. Non
graduate jobs are therapy assistant, medical technician, healthcare assistant, social work
assistant.
The labour market of Health and social care sector is a vast service sector undergoing
with a rapid change, it is giving a higher profile than ever after the new government initiatives
(O'Sullivan, Cairns and Gurney, 2020). The development includes the demand for well trained,
multi skilled people, opening new career paths for the employees in which they are increasingly
taking on new demanding roles in the environment which are continually changing. An
individual should research on the choices thoroughly as early as possible, identify the experience
to be required, the differences of the relation where you live or where the choice of study where
it makes may affect the opportunities in the future. Continuing Professional development is also
required to further study in Social and Healthcare sector.
Continuing professional development is the activity which promotes the learning and
development and enhance the ability of workers to practice effectively and safely. Those
healthcare workers who required professional registration such as the registered doctors and
nurses. Further study are undertaken by many social care and health care graduates and in
professional practising. The reason for doing is that they want to explore the aspect the subjects
in more depth and to change career further. Completing a specific qualification in postgraduate
helps either in the selected career or will be an advantage in the competitive entry (Fisher,
Newton and Sainsbury, 2021). Postgraduate study in the Social and Healthcare gives the

opportunities to individual to shape and influence the practice and future policy in the job roles
such as managers, consultants, educators, senior clinicians within the sector. Research to further
study options is important for comprehensive by exploring the range of postgraduate research
and course opportunities offer. And identify whether it is a correct choice and whether you can
afford it because the funding for the postgraduate is different from the undergraduate system.
Journal Learning on Own Personal Development
Reflective Practice
The modern term of ancient method of self improvement in an evolving framework is
reflective practice. Reflective practice is the method of assessing the own actions and thoughts
for the purpose of own learning and development. This activity is natural and intrinsic for many
peoples, reflective practice for own development can be used to help others develop. Reflective
process is the very adaptable process and it is a set of ideas which can be used alongside with
many other concepts such as for learning, training, self improvement and personal development.
Reflective practice is mainly concerned with the self development, it enables in future personal
growth and to address on how we think and feel about own in the present and past situations
(Sherwood, and et.al., 2022). For learning and using insights from our past reflective practice is a
valuable methodology to assess where we are now and improve the present and future of ours.
For example, towards continuous professional development reflective practice is highly
relevant and helpful. It also helpful in learning and development to children and young peoples.
Reflective practice can be called other things because it is the very old and flexible concepts, to
help in understanding and explaining its principle and scope the alternative terminology includes
some similar words. Example, reflective practice may also be called as synonymous or similar to
self awareness, self assessment, critical evaluation, personal reflection, self review, reflective
dialogue, self criticism. To a point professional learning and development is not limited to
human relationship, parenting, reconciliation, rehabilitation, stress reduction and management.
Review of Knowledge
Understanding of theoretical or practical subject is known as knowledge, in recent year's
knowledge has been widely recognized as the most crucial competitive assets. In twenty first
century knowledge management is the common term as it has been applied in a wide spectrum of
activities and in the area of creating and enhancing the personal development. Own development
is described as taking steps for better yourself by learning and developing new skills by

overcoming bad habits. In review of knowledge the personal development includes the activities
such as by improving identity and awareness, developing potential and talents, enhancing quality
of life by contributing to the realization of aspirants and dreams. The concept of self
development is not limited to the self help but it also includes the both formal and informal
activities for developing other (Dale and Godward, 2019). Roles such as teacher, counsellor,
guide, coach or mentor.
The process of developing, capturing and effectively using of knowledge is known as the
knowledge management. Management of knowledge is referred as multi disciplined approach
for achieving the objectives of organization by making the best use of knowledge. Review of
management knowledge includes dimensions, strategies, knowledge management technologies.
Distinguish between Tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge categorized the dimension of
knowledge is one proposed framework. Actively managing of knowledge is one of the strategy
of knowledge management. Other strategies and instruments for company includes rewards,
cross project learning, etc. General categories for knowledge management technology includes
groupware, e-learning, content management, etc.
Considering Factors for the Personal Development Planning
In the world of business managing director faces a variety of challenges in developing
companies into successful and profitable enterprise. Business leaders should need to arm
themselves for the arm themselves to set of traits and skills which will allow them in maximizing
their own potential and the potential of the staff to maximize profits. The impact factors to create
personal development to influence the company are:
Education
The people who have an adequate knowledge of education were highly paid in the
society. As they were known about the critical facts, ideas and information than the average
person in the field. They live the best possible life as they make more valuable contribution to a
knowledge based society, they were more respected and valued and paid more money (Prasetyo,
2019). The rule is if any individual learns more it will earn more.
Funding
Having money in the bank gives more ability and freedom to take advantage of
opportunities when they come along. The most important thing in the life is that if individuals
have more options it is free, but if an individual has no power it will have no freedom. For

example, if a person stuck in a dead end job it cannot leave because it has no option if it does not
set money aside, it should have to put break on the potential.
Cost
One factor in professional development option anyone can choose is cost. To make a
truly informed and productive choice most importantly, attention, limited resource of time and
opportunity should be weighted against its goals, company's goals. If an individual spends more
time, money and attention to one field then it will forego another area.
Contact
By developing contacts in a wide area of circle an individual can develop its success and
move forward. In every individual life major changes was accompanied by a person, help from
the number of people determine the possibility of the best life an individual can live. In order to
widen the area of people an individual should continuously contact with others whenever it gets
opportunity (Rosida, Muin and Sakka, 2021). There is a direct relationship between the success
of an individual and the number of peoples it knows.
Positive Image
The development of positive image is the best that can help an individual in the life.
People always judge the person on the basis on the looks and the nature of the person they
provide to the society. To present an attractive image in the society an individual must well
clothed, well groomed and wear matching accessories which can impact on the personality of
individual and generate more contacts.
Skills
An individual should plan various skills for developing individual, the level of ability in
its field can determine the quantity and quality of its results. The better result can get on what an
individual do, to get a particular level of result an individual should start moving forward.
Increasing own skills through learning and experiencing can do better and better work in doing
small task which increase the speed and predictability of results.
Developing Curriculum Vitae for Personal Development Plan
Developing a plan for creating curriculum vitae for personal development includes
various steps. For personal development an individual must choose the right curriculum vitae
format by selecting various designs or creating design as per its experience and field. After
choosing the best and suitable format an individual should add its personal information including

its name, mobile number, address and a mail id in the personal information and afterwards it
should add the title which displays the individual personal profile. The curriculum vitae should
include the relevant work experience and achievements of the individual which it earned. And
the work experience provides the company name where it works (Anjum, 2020). It also includes
the role and responsibilities which were done in that job and also includes the time which he
spent in that organization. The curriculum vitae will more includes the academic and education
section which includes the higher level of education achieved by the individual in life.
It should also include the relevant skills similar to job profile you were applying, include
relevant information in additional section. After writing all the sections an individual should
properly organize in the profession curriculum vitae template and complement the curriculum
vitae with the cover letter. Including the personal and professional experience, skills, interest and
qualifications creates a professional resume. This is the most effective structure of Curriculum
Vitae: the document should include important contact information in the top which includes the
individual introduction, achievement and experiences which provide many relevant details which
are necessary to convince the reader for the applying position (Wijayanti and Sulistyaningsih,
2019). Whenever an individual looking for job there was almost 250 other candidates. The
recruiter has not much time to look 250 resumes, so if an individual arrange its resume clear and
neat in correct format it must attract to the recruiter.
While if the resume is untidy or not clear then the recruiter will discard the candidate.
The correct format for profession Curriculum vitae is firstly the header of Curriculum Vitae
includes the Contact Information; secondly, it includes personal profile in which it describes the
summary and objectives of curriculum vitae; afterwards it should include the work experience,
education, skills and lastly the additional sections. For a standard curriculum vitae the
information should have written in Times New Roman, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif fonts to look
your document more professional. Use 11 to 12 points of font size with a single spacing and for
the name and headings of the section the font size should be in 14 to 16 points. Second step for
professional Curriculum vitae the layout should include one inch margin on all four sides.
Headings of the documents should be uniform by making larger and bold but go easy with italics
and underlining. The format of the dates should include single sate such as 11-2022 or November
2022 (Gottlieb, Promes and Coates, 2021). Should not design the Curriculum Vitae with much

graphics it should be less graphical, and it should be printed on the white paper with the black
ink. Using too much graphics make it illegible.
Own Personal Development Plan
There are seven steps to create personal development plan. To create a personal
development plan the first step is to set own goals, secondly own should prioritize those goals,
thirdly should write deadlines for when and what to achieve, fourthly it should follow by
recognizing the threats and opportunities, fifth it should develop the skills or increase own
knowledge, sixth it should use own support network and lastly it should measure its progress.
Reflection on personal development plan includes the lifelong process which involves the
assessment of current skills and talents and by enhancing own based on that assessment which
improves the quality of life in leads to realization of goals (Lejeune, Beausaert and Raemdonck,
2021). Previously in the development of personal plan, I had designed various initiatives through
which I hoped to achieve the certain goals by the both social life and academics.
I also begin more on the process which I believed that it would help me in thinking about
my own learning, achievement and increase my performance and also by planning to my
personal, social, educational and career development plan. Since I created a plan of personal
development then also I see many changes in my career, learnings and social changes. For
example, I noted in the last three months that I will improve a number of areas which I had
pointed in my last plan of personal development. In the academics I achieved a lot of skills and
learned a lot, my average grades last year was updated from the B+ to A. Due to the SWOT
analysis I primarily developed in which I recognized my strengths, weakness and threats in
academics, social life and in extra curricular activities. From the identified strengths and
weaknesses I worked to generate more strengths and reduce the weaknesses and with my abilities
utilize the opportunities and avoid the negative threats effect which was posed by threats
(Kovens). I recognized that some of my strengths are able to work under the strict deadlines, can
carry out attend classes, extensive research and also able to do personal studies and submit all the
assignment and documents at right time.
I also recognize that some weakness affect the performance of my work in certain
courses. For example, I realized that I have a coordination problem with other friends, students
and tutor. I ignore the strength of teamwork and does not attend the group discussions and don't
go for group works. I attempt to do my own research and work on subject rather than consulting

to tutors in academics, I did not attend the outdoor games which was held in our universities with
a lot of teams playing athletes with training personnel and other facilities. Because in the last
semester I had created a personal development plan in which I planned for playing online
computer games rather involving in athlete games. In the schedule I planned for watching the
favourite sport show- cricket. I further also realized that there were many challenges in my
performance which cause threats (Gottlieb, Promes and Coates, 2021). For example, I have a
threat of being lonely because of the weak approach of working as individual rather including to
team work and group work.
Implementation of Own Personal Development Plan
I considered three main steps to implement the personal development plan. The three
steps are: Firstly, putting some time aside as protection to reflect and decide to take out some
distraction. Secondly, working systematic by writing a plan and review regularly over the course
of year; Lastly, for looking on the objective of planning I find out one friend who acts as critical
friend. I achieved the goals which were set by me while creating personal development plan to
develop my skills and abilities. For example, I achieved the goal of completing one chapter every
day to achieve great numbers in final result. The important goals that I have implemented in my
daily life is learning new skills, taking participation in athlete games, regularly study and include
in group sessions to achieve my objectives (Durbin and et.al., 2022). Implemented on all the
short term and long term goals to increase my performance and strengths.
While creating a plan I decided a timeline in which I have to complete the task and which
task were to complete at which time. While implementing on the plan I see that in many cases I
am not able to achieve the timeline and it affects in the performance of the business. And in
some cases I achieved the goals at the correct timeline. For example, I created a timeline of
going universities from nine to two and I counted a one-hour deadline for travelling but due to
construction work and traffics I did not able to implement on plan and it disturbs in managing
other activities. I also decided to complete half courses in half yearly and I achieved that timeline
and got a good result. While implementing on plan I utilize all my strengths to work on the
opportunities which benefits me in the performance of the work (Widodo, 2020).
I worked on all the threats and tried to reduce it so it does not affect in other work. For
example, I reduced the threat of being loneliness and worked and practice in group training or
team work and Utilizing team work helps me in learning more and helps it in increase my skills.

For example, I decided to open a restaurant while studying, so I discussed it with it my friends
and take ideas for them. The ideas increased the scope of opening business and the idea will help
me in getting better results and will maximize the profits. I pinned out my weaknesses such as
the weakness of not believing in myself, such as what happen if I will not able to achieve the
goal at the correct deadline. While creating personal development plan I think that I will not able
to complete this task at right time but while implementing I see that it was easily completed by
me with the standard time set (Durbin and et.al., 2022). For example, I think that I will have
difficulty in managing the restaurant business and the study. But when I started managing both in
few times there was no difficulty for managing both.
Review on the Personal Development Plan
While reviewing the personal development plan I noticed that there are number of
weakness to improve and see that can improve the skills through the strengths. The weaknesses
to improve such as education, social activities and sports. Further, I improved my
communication skills, there are several factors which are currently affecting me in both positive
and negative ways. For example, while implementing a personal development of SWOT analysis
I realize that in working in activities I have several internal factors such as strengths, weakness,
threats and opportunities. To improve my weaknesses currently I have the abilities and strengths
to correct it. In my faculty it is the common factor that no one student is ignoring the weak points
(Liu and Lu, 2021). Working with a group or team member I can learn new skills and experience
from them which I can implement in my life and learn from their mistakes. From the strength I
can realize that I utilize my strengths in identifying opportunities within the learning
environment and increase the skills and knowledge in the career.
Some weak points which were affecting me in my work performances. I am not able to
become a good organizational leader until I do not learn the basic skills which lead to other
peoples in groups, class, teams and the perfect leading skills. The one of the weaknesses I review
that I do not have much courage to communicate with tutor after the session and solve the issue.
So I implement a plan to develop the communication skills so can easily able to communicate
with teacher. After it I noticed that in next semester I increased the communication skills and
now I am able to solve the problems and doubts easily after contacting with the tutor (Rimmer,
2018). I developed the communication skills by working in a group teams and regularly

discussed the topics and problem with them and get ideas to achieve the best results. Some
external factors I reviewed which are affecting me are such as threats and opportunities.
Some of my class students were doing reflection programmes and comparing their
performance with the other students in the class. Thus, in the current situation our class students
has an opportunity to increase the skills and can develop it together and achieve a common goal.
Earlier in our institution their were only allowed to participate in two universities club but now
has the opportunities to participate in four institutional clubs which benefits in increasing the
experiences. I reviewed that I have to manage all my plans systematically apart from the
curricular activities like playing, participating in athlete (Liu and Lu, 2021). I need to have
performed well in the classrooms and classes too to achieve the personal development plan.
Critically evaluating the need for continuing professional development in the health and social
care sector.
CPD is very useful to various professions, specially important in the health and social
care sector, because it helps to enhance the quality of the care which is received by the patients.
It allows every individual to upgrade their skill, not to think about their age group, any kind of
job or their acknowledgement. The health and social care sectors are continually changing and it
is very important for them who are working in this sector to know that they have a proper skill
towards their role and upgraded as well.
The workers who are more punctual to invest their time into the continuing development
training, can see the various opportunities for their career advancement. They can also see the
benefits towards the stable manpower which may have a higher level of employee morals
(Alshahrani, 2020). The workers who are in the health and social care sector used many
academic skills like Caredemy. This is used to make an easy way to provide the best and
effective training of the continuing development opportunities. They have a broad range of CPD
authorized courses which are help to written and being supported by the health and social care of
professionalism. The monitoring the process and their track will make them very easy to
continuing professional development which is based on the hour training which is used by the
friendly for reporting towards their dashboards.
The benefit of CPD creates a way to self-improvement in the individual professional
workers in this sector. It helps them to stay up to date towards their changing trends which will
make ensure them to know about their skills. The current acknowledgement and skills can be

outdated if they not be able to keep the proper speed in the change. It helps people to be more
attentive and effective at their workplace which will refers to very useful for them (McCann and
Brown, 2018). The CPD training creates a professionalism in each individual which helps them
to interested in their profession and which help to increase the expressing activity of their work.
The health and social care sectors are under large pressure to delivers the high quality of the
cautious at a time when it used to be progressively flexible and many posts remain occupied.
The health and social care professionals are used to provide engage process in the order
to which it maintains successfully and help to improve and broad the skills and help to develop
their personal qualities which has a requirement in their daily working lives. As they will be
required to attempt the continuous professional development which is used to be the part of the
registration repeating process. Some activities which help which is used in the health and social
care which include. The measurement through chasing, attend some conferences, participate in
the workshops. Continuous professional development contributes to provide the high quality of
care and services. It provides the practical guidance over the strategies for the lifelong learning
and continuing the professional development.
CONCLUSION
Thus, it has been concluded from the above report that the Personal and Professional
development is the way for individuals to identify their own skills and abilities. And the purpose
of the professional development in the social and healthcare sector is to provide quality of care to
their clients and patients in receiving the higher standard. Further, the report evaluate the job
roles such as senior care worker, occupational therapist, social workers in the social and health
care provisions. Analysed the opportunities like higher education, further education, continuous
professional development for further study in relation with social and healthcare sector.
Moreover, we produced a personal learning journal by reflective practice and review of
knowledge and explain the factors like funding, cost, education and skill for developing personal
plan. Further, developed a curricular vitae by including skills, education, personal information,
experiences. Thus, it has been created own personal developing by implementing and reviewing
the plan. Lastly, evaluated the code of practice and life long learning for continuing profession
development plan in social and healthcare sector.
