HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION2
Introduction
The following report is all about user evaluation of Holmes learning management
system (LMS). LMS is considered to be as the backbone for the workflow of education in
university and schools. By using this system, teacher can assign work, share content and
post grades. In addition, student can turn the work, view content and easily collaborate
on different forms with different social features (Noe
et al. 2017). Some of learning
management system can provide different kind of ability for building educational content.
Blackboard comes up with premium LMS pack for different number of years. User can
easily get what they have paid for. For fully functional vendor there are two kind of offers
like software as a service and non- SaaS model. The system is integrated with student
information system and mobile platform which operates with the desktop version also
(Walker
et al. 2016). Along with the functionality, there are various kind of official and
community based content which are added into the course. Integration of blackboard
with online conferencing system helps the student to attend class virtually.
In the coming pages, a user analysis has been performed so that it can have clear
view of the system. The report highlights about the non-functioning prototype, usability
analysis and proper plan for heuristic evaluation. A task analysis has been done for
identifying task for potential user that they will perform and in particular order. A low –
fidelity prototype has been developed for the system.

Discussion
Perform a User Analysis
The development of technologies in the last few years has made for e-learning to
develop in complex way irrespective of educational content and resources. This has
merely led to the development of some powerful design for helping teacher and whole
process of learning (Van Aken
et al. 2017). User experience aims to play in analysing
quality in LMS and learning procedure. If a LMS fails to provide good usability then the
user will spend of his time in understanding how to use the system instead of learning
education content. There is need of good user interface so that the whole system can
appear pleasuring to the learner (De Smet
et al. 2016). If the platform is found to be
usable and interesting then it can attract much more user.
There are mainly four types where required setting can be done for different user
in the system
System Admin: This particular user has complete access to almost every section
of system.
Office Admin: User has complete access to all the areas of the program ignoring
the university setting (Ain, Kaur and Waheed 2016). It merely highlights the fact that user
can have complete access by using some specific features like on/off key of user. In
addition, it can edit new user in program.
Standard User (Student): This particular addresses an individual to sign in
adding enrolled course details and time for that individual. The age group of student
merely lie in between 18-25 who are main user of the system.
Limited User (Student): Most of the areas of the program will be unavailable to
them only professor or tutor.
Task analysis
The main notion of learning management system is all about improving the
process of learning. A LMS does not only provides content but also handles the
registration course, administration, skill gap analysis and reports of different student
(Rhode
et al. 2017). LMS is used in Holmes Institute for improving the classroom
teaching. It is being used in various industries and domains like financial services and
compliance. LMS can be used for analysis of certain task like
Progress Tracking: It aims to provide the clear progress which will help the
employee to track a list of things. This particular system will provide details about the
