HUMAN IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
Respond 1
While thinking about biodiversity and the growing population, it certainly becomes a concern. In
the coming years the population is yet to grow and is expected to become 9 billion by 2050. It is
certainly a challenge of food security that is a major concern. It is estimated that there will be the
need to produce 60 per cent more food than now1. Looking at the need of the population,
researchers are making tremendous improvement in the technology which is essential. Although
there is a growth in the technology which are preparing for the challenge it is to face in the
coming year, it is eventually a decision that are prone to having several disadvantages for the
generation2. Also, another concern would be to understand the longevity of the solution, that is,
for how long these advance technology can provide the food for the growing mouth?
Response 2:
It has become crucial to understand the speed at which population is increasing and become
aware of the impact it may have on the planet. People require being mindful about the food loss
and waste they make. As found, people waste approximately one-quarter of food produced for
human consumption3. There are millions of people who are dying in hunger for not having the
access to food. Regardless of the type of nation, whether it is developing or developed country a
significant amount of food is wasted and lost, specifically at the end of supply chain. Therefore,
although there are people working in order to make the differences and helping the people have
access to food, the first initiative would be controlling wastage and being mindful about the food
consumption.
