Introduction
A manager plays an important role in the organization. As managers, they have the
opportunity to build an environment that can support and motivate employees. In this
discussion, light is thrown on organizational structures and responsibilities of managers. It is
shown by two peer journal articles, namely, “The Importance of manager support for the
mental health and well-being of ambulance personnel” and “Mental Health Promotion in
public health: perspectives and strategies from positive psychology”.
Priority of Managers
Employees are considered to be the biggest asset of the organization. Therefore to
their mental health and wellbeing is the responsibility of managers. These activities are to
enhance the mental health of an individual. There are certain demographics and mental health
measures which being taken by managers to ensure proper implication of those strategies.
Interventions that are used to motivate the factor of mental health within high-risk companies
especially focus on individual-level factors. A survey was also conducted between two
Australian states. In this survey demographics and mental health is assessed. The Influence of
employee’s perception was conducted with the help of hierarchical multiple linear. Managers
also observed the behaviour of employees. It is also found that the manager’s behaviour has
less effect on mental either of employees (Petrie, et al., 2018)
In the working environment it is generally costly to solve the problems related to
mental health. Mental health problems are addressed generally and evolved independently in
three main factors such as public health, medicine, and psychology. There are many benefits
of involving factors of mental health in the organization such as a) reduce risk factors which

can cause health problems, positive capacities and promote mental health strengths also
(LaMontagne, et al., 2014).
Assumptions
According to Peer journal article of Mental health Promotion in public health it is
assumed that implementing mental health factors in the workplace it can protect employees
from mental health of employees is decreasing their work stress. It is also assumed that it can
be proved as an important factor in improving the working environment of the organization.
Further, it is also assumed that mental health will be proven effective in the organization as it
will identify risks before and solution of that risk will be identified and applies it in the future
(LaMontagne, et al., 2014).
Perspective
There are different perspectives of mental health, namely, social, emotional and
psychological. Mental health in workplaces tends to focus more on the individual rather than
the organization. In Peer journal article of “The importance of managers’ support for the
mental health and well-being of ambulance personnel” it is proven that mental health is
beneficial for both organizations and individuals as it is promoting good mental growth of
employees (Kobau, Seligman, & Thompson, 2011).
The perspective of health has also changed from earlier as now organizations have the
awareness to implement different rules and regulation which can influence the minds of
people. An individual’s actions are also initiated by the organization (Galderisi, Heinz, &
Sartorius, 2015).
Situations
There are different situations in which require mental health is necessary. There are
times in an organization when there is more workload and this can result in more stress for

employees. Extended working hours are also considered as the reason for the requirement to
foster mental health in the organization. Work-life balance can also be created by
implementing a proper mental health strategy on time so that it can prevent employees from
negative wellbeing.

Mental health is an integrated approach towards improvements of the organization. It
can be done by implementing mental health literacy. Managers should be involved in
improving mental health of employees as this will foster their mind and motivation. Mental
health is now an important aspect as it is linked with performance of employees
