In support of above statement, it can be said that it is a business activity which is performed toenhance the effectiveness of operational activities through efficient management of human resources.It is considered as one of the most critical and significant parts of business which provides number ofbenefits in order to amend the organisational productiveness (Deckop, 2006). In other aspect, it can besaid that human resource management is a procedure of managing people of a social group in astructured and planned way. It includes number of steps which need to be followed by the HRmanager of organization. In this report, learning will focus on the work culture of Ryanair Airlines. It is an airlinefirm which provides low cost air services in the highly competitive market. It will focus on variousroles and purpose of human resource management in airline service industry. It will also have a spotlight on the impact of employment law on human resource management of airline service industry.Furthermore, it will also focus on the contribution of training and development activities in thebusiness operations of selected service industry business.1.1 Role and purpose of human resource managementIn the current market scenario, organisations are facing number of issues so it is necessary for itto focus on various human resource management activities in order to deal with those issues. In otheraspect, it can be said that human resource management plays a key significant role in operationalactivities. Human resource manager is considered as a strategic partner within organisation whichindicates that human resource management is having a significant role in diverse operational activities(Dowling, 2008). Human resource management includes various activities which provide bettergrowth and consistency to the business organisation. Moreover, with an improved focus on humanresource management activities, airline firm can maintain continuous development in business planand accomplishment of organisational goals. In support of this, it can be said that human resource person is performing number of activitieswhich provide better development opportunities to the airline industry firm. With an improved focuson human resource management activities, Ryanair Airlines can create healthy work environmentwhich will enhance the motivation level among human resources (Kearns, 2010). Moreover,coordination and employee contribution can also be improved within organisation by the effectiveconcentration on human resource activities. Other than this, human resource management activities arealso playing a key role in various activities regarding to manage the change which can enhance the3

In order to manage the change withinorganisation as well as improvement in performance, human resource management can focus onchange management strategies (Mariappanadar, 2006). Illustration 1: Roles of HRIn order to have effective accomplishment of human resource management purpose, the humanresource manager of airline industry firm can focus various factors. Classification of these factors canbe as motivation, job satisfaction, effective management of workforce in diverse informal groups,resolution of diverse conflicts, training and skills development etc (Richard, 2006). In support to this, itcan be said that effective communication between management and employees can also be taken intoaccount by focusing on above mentioned factors. Along with this, it will help in developing betterrelations with human resources present within organisation. Human resource management also plays an effective role in proper allocation of diverseresources which is essential for firm to perform its business operations in an effective manner.. With animproved focus on the effective allocation of human resources, HR manager of Ryanair Airlines canlead firm to impressive success as it will boost the capabilities of workforce (Henderson., 2005). It alsomaintain the balance between diverse factors which can improve relationship between top levelmanagement and employees. In order to have effective allocation of human resources, management ofRyanair Airlines can focus on effective recruitment and selection process (Lucio, 2013). In selectionprocess, it is necessary for HR manager to focus on organisational needs and then select theindividuals as it provides strength to business organisation.
