Activity 1:
The significance of the human resource management is increasing in a rapid manner
as the companies are facing the need of managing their human resource operations in an
efficient manner for the much required achievement of the sustainability in the business
performances of the companies. Considering the changing business dynamics and the
business environment, the companies are facing the necessity to improve their utilization of
the human resources and their lies the importance of the human resource managers.
With a precise look back at the actions of the human resource managers, it is obvious
that the importance of the personal skills is noteworthy for the achievement of the human
resource managers. Considering the business actions of the human resource managers, it is
obvious that the human resource managers of modern day business world, are in need to be
decisive thinker, skilled influencer, a credible personality, with the urge to deliver, with the
capability to collaborate, curious, courageous in challenge themselves and the work groups
that they manage and at the same time, the human resource managers are expected to be the
role for their work groups (Cipd.co.uk 2019).
Other than this, the human resource managers in today’s business world have the
necessity to manage a range of business activities in an efficient manner. With a precise focus
on the profession map, it is obvious that the human resource managers are required to be
efficient in managing the organizational design and the structure of the companies. In
addition to this, the skill of the managers in conducting the required actions and planning for
the efficient management of the talents and resourcing the talents are considered to be
significant for their success. Along with this, the human resource managers of the modern
world of business are required to be efficient in managing the organizational development, in
managing the learning and development of the subordinate workgroups, the performance

assessment of the employees and rewarding the employees on the basis of the findings
(Cipd.co.uk 2019). Other than this, the modern HR managers are in need to be efficient in
managing the quality of the service delivery and the flow of information inside the
organizations, efficient employee engagement and management of the employment relations.
For being an efficient human resource manager, the availability of the above mentioned
personal and professional skills is crucial.
For the efficient elaboration of the professional areas, employee engagement and the
organizational design are chosen. Considering the importance of the team performances in
the modern world of business, it is obvious that the success of the human resource managers
is largely dependent on their ability in engaging the employees in an efficient manner. As a
result of the effects of globalization, majority of the companies are observed to experience
significant amount of diversity in their workforces on the basis of the gender, culture, social
belief, values, race and religion (Anitha 2014). Under such situation, the efficient
management of the diversity becomes significantly important for the success of the company
in improving their team performances and under such situation, the HR managers are liable to
introduce relevant engagement sessions for the employees to improve their skills of
collaboration (Breevaart et al. 2014). On the other hand, the organizational design or
structure is an important factor for the companies in the efficient decision making and in
improving the capability of the companies in becoming innovative. Hence, with the
organizational structure, the companies are exposed to the benefits such as the efficient flow
of communication or effective organizational development. Under such situation, the HR
managers are witnessed to be responsible for the effective formulation of the design of the
company, development of the policies and procedures of the company as well (Abdul-Jalal,
Toulson and Tweed 2013).

Activity 2:
Considering the importance of the team performances in the competitive world of
modern business, Sakulkijkarn (2013) claimed that the ability of the companies in enhancing
the bond between the employees is crucial for the companies in distributing the excessive
work load and at the same time, it enables the companies to continuously provide the
optimum quality of the services to their customers. With a precise understanding of the
significance of the team dynamics, it is visible that the Belbin’s theory of team development
is significant for the success of the human resource managers operating in the modern world
of business. The mentioned theory of team development precisely educates the human
resource managers regarding the necessity of different roles and responsibilities of the
members of the teams. With a precise focus on the theory, it is obvious that there are
primarily nine different roles present in any team which includes a sort of a leader in the form
of coordinator, a shaper for driving the projects to the completion, individuals for supporting
others with the formation of the roles such as the Team Worker and Resource Investigator,
individuals for the effective planning in the form of Plant Innovator, individuals for providing
the much needed depth of expertise in the form of expert specialist and various sorts of
executives or doers such as implementers, monitor evaluator and complete finishers
(Batenburg, van Walbeek and in der Maur 2013). With a precise consideration towards the
developed roles and responsibilities, it is understandable that the work efficiency of the teams
will improve and the effective management of the excessive work load will be efficiently
achieved.
Considering the conflict resolution techniques, it is obvious that two of the largely
used techniques for the management of the conflict, are accommodating and collaborating
(Hesse et al. 2015). Both the techniques are used by the human resource managers in the
organizational context due to the excellence of them in effective management of the areas of

conflict. With the application of the collaboration technique, the HR managers have the
possibility to anchor or support the effort of the subordinate employees in managing the areas
of conflict and at the same time, the application of the accommodating technique helps the
managers to improve their ability to provide the required resources and infrastructure for the
management of the areas of conflict.
Considering the real life incident, I managed the role of a team leader in the
operations of one of the mining companies and during my operations in the company, I
observe that the employees are pretty reluctant and demotivated in managing their business
operations. This was hardly acceptable for me as a team leader and for that, I had an intense
argument with the employees. However, with a precise look at the formed conflict, I took a
step back and collaborated with them to know the actual reason of their apathy in working.
However, I understood that the employees are concerned about their workplace safety and the
inappropriate WHS policy and equipment of the company are observed to be major point of
concern for the employees. With a detailed understanding of the fact and acknowledging the
importance of the WHS in the mining operations, I communicated my concern to the higher
authority and the senior management of the company were able to understand the concern
and that made them invest in bulk for the effective restructuring of the infrastructure of WHS
of the employees of the company. Hence I accommodated appropriate infrastructure for the
employees of the company and resolved the conflict that they faced with the WHS.
Activity 3:
During my operations as the marketing consultant in one of the multinational
companies in Australia, I was given the responsibility to manage a business project of market
research regarding the introduction of a new four wheeler care in the Australian market.
Having said that, I applied the waterfall project management technique and at the same time,
