HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The primary step is to observe the matter of issue and analyze Jim’s past performance
records. My second step will be to observe for two or three more days of him being late at
arriving office to understand the pattern and notion of the sudden change. Jim have been the
most dedicated and committed employee amongst the new recruited candidates. Therefore,
charging anything directly can create a situation of intolerance for the target. For two more days,
I will be attending at his site of operation and observing the activities as well as having a
conversation of greeting.
I am now ready to summon a meeting with Jim where I shall be discussing about his
performance and issues of concern to reach a positive conclusion. As far as I had gathered all the
knowledge about his attitude, problems, movement, achievements and deliverables, it has
become easier for me to take note on his attributes briefly. While in conversing with Jim, I can
point out his positive and negative prospects clearly and not falsely accuse him without a cause. I
would ask my seniors to attend the meeting as well, so that we all can conclude on common
factors identified.
I would ask Jim to step in and take the seat. It is important to make him feel relaxed that
can restrict him from being panicked with sudden discussion of the issue. As he is not all new to
the organization, it is important to make him understand about his responsibilities with growing
time in the company. Any mishap or misbehavior of his can affect impression and performance
of candidates junior to him in the company.
The dedication and concentration Jim had shown in his operational duties is commendable. I
shall now ask him regarding the issue prevailing in the operations due to his breach of
punctuality. I will let him speak about the problem that he is facing and ask him to elaborate how
and why it directly relates to the operational field and distracts Jim’s attention to perform better.
