The advertisement is for the post of Engineering Design Technologist in Melbourne,
Sydney. The main requirement is for the candidates, who have experience in handling
complex signalling projects and is acquainted with the standards and procedures of applying
designs. The main responsibilities of the candidate are to assist, mentor and advice according
to the business requirements. Along with this, the candidate is to attend in-house training
sessions and update the IRSE log book and review it (ref to Appendix 1).
The minimum educational qualification needed for applying to this post is diploma or
equivalent degree in technical engineering. The skills needed for this post is problem
analysis, organizational skills, designing skills, fluency in written and oral communication
along with effective project management skills (Jora.com 2020). Problem analysing skills are
effective for broadening the knowledge and thought horizons. Organizational skills are
beneficial in terms of gaining an insight into the tasks, which needs to be completed on an
urgent basis.
