INTRODUCTIONHuman Resource Management (HRM) plays a significant role to manage differentactivities in organisation. This is the factor which is concerned to recruit new employee fororganisation and determine level of performance of new and existing employee in organisation.Human resource department implements new and innovative methods of training in order toenhance skills and knowledge of employee (Aswathappa, 2013). It aids to perform various workprocesses by employee at workplace. HRM monitor all the work activities of employees andtakes effective solutions regarding the issues which are raised during performing various workprocesses by employee. This report concerned about the role plays by manager of Crowne Plazahotel in order to manage different human resource in hotel. The purpose oharshita.apf humanresource manager is motivate their employee in order to achieve goals and objectives oforganisation. This report is related to the impact of employment laws on HRM which aredescribed below. TASK 11.1 Role and purpose of HRMFor any organisation HRM plays a significant role in order to manage various activitiesof business operation in systematic manner. The HR manager of hotel Crowne plaza involve indifferent processes like recruitment of new employee, conduct interview in order to select bestalternative for hotel, organising various types of training session which help in improve skillsand knowledge of employee, monitor their performance, and other various activities which helpto attain goals and objectives of organisation (Bamberger and et. al., 2014). This hotel gives itsservice in 52 countries and has 400 branches in these different countries. So HRM plays asignificant roles to maximise level of profits and expansion of business in other countries. Thereare different given below about HRM in Crowne Plaza Hotel: Recruitment and selection: The manager of Crowne Plaza hotel plays an important roleto recruit new employee as per the requirement in hotel. HR manager of hotel selects newemployees according to their capabilities to perform work in effective manner. For filling vacantposition manager publish advertisement in newspaper, on social media, conduct pool campusinterview and other various way to hire new employee. These selection methods includes writtentest, telephonic interview face to face interview group discussion in order to select right person
for right job. The HR manager took various initiative steps in order to manage the differentinterview purposes in order to select better employees working in the organisation. Performance management: This factor is concerned to monitor the performance ofemployees performing in organisation. So, it is essential that HRM should set up an effectiveperformance system in order to monitor performance of employee. HR manager of Hotel crownPlaza take initiative steps in order to enhance the performance of employee which helps toaccomplish different task in effective manner. Performance management is most essential factorof organisation because it leads to maintain the effectiveness of various activities oforganisation. It leads to attain goals and objectives of organisation. Management took variousinitiative steps in order to enhance the performance of employees working in organisation. Training and development: To enhance skill and working capabilities of employee, themanager of hotel Crown Plaza conduct new and innovative technique of training for employee.These methods enhance the capabilities of employee so they can accomplish different task instipulated time frame. HR manager of Hotel Crown Plaza implement new and innovativemethods of training in order to enhance skills and knowledge of employee. It leads to manage allactivities in effective manner. In order to improve the capabilities of employees which help themprovide better service to customers. Human Resource Planning: Human resource planning concerned with givingassistance to their staff provides different types of facilities to its customer as well as itsemployees working in organisation. HR manager also manage other activities like number ofemployees on leave, their compensation, retirement and many other different activities(Calabrese, 2012). HR manager of organisation prepare effective plan in order to controlsvarious activities which are very time consuming. These activities hinders the performance ofdiffenrt activities which are performed by the employees. HR manager monitor all these in orderto improve the performance of employee. Implementing policies: HR manager plays a significant role in executing differentactivities in effective manner. It implements different policies as the employee had to performtheir work accordingly. While implementing different policies manager should consider views ofemployees of hotel. So that all task which is assigned by management can accomplished ineffective manner.
