INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is the strategic approach that is used by company to
manage large number of people in the company effectively and influences them to achieve all
defined objectives within timeframe. However, HRM is the essential part of the business that
perform various roles such as planning, organizing, controlling and coordinating in order to bring
productivity in the company. Human resource managers is not only supported company to gain
it’s all objectives but also maintains wellbeing of the individuals in the workplace. The main
objective of the human resource managers is to enhance productivity, operation and growth of
the business in its business market. Apart from this, they identify and resolve all issues related
with employee retention, recruitment and selection, training and development and others. To
understand role of the HRM has an example of Next plc. it is a British multinational footwear,
clothing and home product retailers which is headquartered in UK. In this report will discuss
over purpose of HR functions and their key roles and responsibilities in the company.

The human resource management is currently playing very excellent role in the
workplace of Next company. Currently this retail organisation has very large customer base in
across the workplace, in which human resource management of this company is playing very
appropriate role in maintaining this high reputation of company in market place (Shin, Jeong and
Bae, 2018). According to various experts and specialist of business, no business can achieve its
different objectives and targets in decision without having effective practices of human resource
management. There are some key aspects of HRM practices has been discussed below, like; job
