1HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENTSpeaker’s NoteFound in the year 1927, Marriott International is a multinational and diversifiedhospitality industry which franchises and manages a broad range of hotels and lodging relatedfacilities. It is one of the leading hotel industries, which is spread over 122 countries, owningmore than 6,000 properties. Financial reports reveal that the revenue generated by the hotelindustry is more than about $17 million per year. In Australia, the number of hotels owned bythe company is fifteen and the organization is planning to open fifteen more. In the year2008, the industry had funded $2 million to preserve the rainforest of Juma Reserve in thestate of Amazon.Marriott International, the root of the hotel industry of Marriott Corporation, wasformed in 1993. The first hotel of this organization, Twin Bridges Marriott Motor Hotel hadbeen opened in 1957, in Virginia. Apart from hotels and lodging business, theme parks havebeen designed by the organization, which have been located at California, Illinois and otherplaces. The vision of Marriott International is to become the leading provider as well as thefacilitator of vocational and leisurely experiences across the world. It has build a good imageand reputation by providing customers with superior services, good food and services at fairprice. They take care of every single thing with great detail, so that the customers don’t getoffended with their services. Marriott family has helped in shaping the modern industry ofhospitality. They are continuously driven by challenges which help them understand thecustomers’ needs and demands. New locations and guest experiences help them learn a lotfrom the changing environment. They have verified certificates of the environmental impactand positive health, as they provide improved air quality, water and other services to theircustomers as well as the employees.
