INTRODUCTION
Human resource can be described as work force of any organisation and they are needed
to put efforts in correct direction for attaining goals or objectives. Every organisation is required
to establish an effective as well as efficient HR department. Human resource management can be
defined as to manage manpower of company by allocation tasks for completing desired targets
(Allen, Ericksen and Collins, 2013). This report on based in Clink Restaurant which was
established by Clink Charity in February, 2014. They are considered as champion of wealth
quality, fresh and organic produce available through out United Kingdom with many vegetables
and herbs. This assignation will discuss about purpose and roles of human resource management.
HR plan is all about to make an appropriate technique to conduct several processes related to
employees is described below.
TASK
1.1 Purpose and roles HRM
Human resource management refers to an essential section in company that provide
support to allocate appropriate tasks or activities as per their field of expertise. This will help ]in
achieving required targets and objectives properly. It is necessary to observe, analyse and
evaluate everything in restaurants to remove threats and enhance profitability as well. There are
various kinds of purposes and roles which should be completed by HR department in Clink
Restaurant that are explained below.
Purpose of HRM
Apply legal rules and laws :- Different types of rules and legislations are made by
government authorities which are mandatory to be applied in an organisation. It is
necessary to analyse about modifications of these laws and upgrade policies of company
according to new rules (Castrogiovanni, Urbano and Loras, 2011). Clink Restaurant have
to focus on these legal norms which should be done by HR department to run an
enterprise properly so as to attain desired targets and goals.
Ensure optimum utilisation of resources :- There are various kinds of resources that are
available or required in company for carrying out several activities or tasks in
appropriate manner to generate desired outcomes on regular basis. Clink Restaurant is

needed to observe and analyse actual requirement of sources and then implement them in
effective way to make sure optimum utilisation in hotel can b done in hotel.
Roles of HRM Hiring :- This can be defined to select person for specific job position in hotels as per
their abilities so that they can become capable to fulfil roles of that designation in Clink
Restaurant properly. Firing :- It can be described as to dismiss such people who are not capable to fulfil
regular targets and seems to be as reason for loss in company (Daley, 2012). It is
necessary to fire inappropriate employee for their worst performance in Clink Restaurant. Developing :- This can be considered as to concentrate on several innovative techniques
which provide support to improve productivity as well profitability of hotel. Several
unique trends must be implemented by Clink Restaurant to attain growth in career of
business. These methods are helpful to improving skills of employees to attain growth in
business. Training :- It can be explained as to conduct an effective learning or educational events
which helps in improving skills and abilities of employees. This will facilitate to increase
their regular outcomes which results into boosting up profits of Clink Restaurant.
Recruiting :- This can be defined to determine actual information about vacancies in
restaurant and then provide it to required candidates so that they can apply for job. HR
manager have to design efficient process to recruit an appropriate person in Clink
Restaurant.
1.2 Human resource plan
Human resource management is an important task which is required to be carried to in an
effective away to achieve desire outcomes. It is necessary to allocate various activities and
resources to staff members to attain targets on daily basis properly.
In case of hospitality industry, low and peak seasons are usually observed in a year (Lin,
2011). According to the season top level authority of organisation make some required decisions
regarding staff members and other aspects. In low season, there is less demand and requirement
of employees is minimum then companies tries to implement cost cutting measures which can be
achieve to lean production and removing excess work force. On the other hand, during peak
season there is an urgent requirement for additional work force for the company. Management is

persuaded to take some rapid decision and hire additional work force for an organisation. Several
vacant positions are necessary to be fulfilled like 2 marketing executives, 2 front office executive
and 1 FMD manager that helps to manage workload of peak season.
Justification of plan Objectives and strategies :- The main objective of Clink Restaurant is to recruit 2
marketing executives, 2 front office executive and 1 F&B manager urgently in peak
season to reduce the excess work load. It is necessary to maintain sufficient employees to
render services to clients properly. Analyse internal inventory of HR capabilities :- This can be described about efficient
skills and capabilities of HR manager to observe and analyse current situation of
restaurant. It will help them to taker appropriate actions to fulfil desires of company in
terms of human resource to conduct required activities on regular basis. Survey of people available :- The HR manager those effective qualities to make an
appropriate survey of employees available along with vacant positions (Shen, and Jiuhua
Zhu, 2011). It will help to hire best person for specific designation so that they can
complete roles properly in Clink Restaurant. HR strategies and plan :- This can be defined as to build an effective as well as efficient
strategies to conduct recruitment for selecting correct person for specific vacant
designation. Clink Restaurant have to prepare an appropriate plan of action to hire desired
people for attaining targets in accurate way. Organisational need of people :- It is all about to observe and determine requirement of
people as per desired qualities needed such as education, experience, skills and
capabilities mandatory for particular position. Clink Restaurant required experienced
managers so that they can manage regular work in appropriate manner.
Scanning of external environment :- There are different types of external factors that are
compulsory to be determined in terms of their impact on operational activities of
company. These elements has several laws or norms that are mandatory to be followed by
Clink Restaurant to run their restaurant without threats to achieve setted targets or
objectives.

The above report had concluded that human resource can be described as work force of
any organisation to put efforts in correct direction for attaining goals or objectives. There are
various kinds of purposes and roles which should be completed by HR department. Human
resource plan to make strategies and policies to manage work force of restaurant in accurate way
to complete activities on regular basis in correct manner.
