INTRODUCTION
The file is about a service which endures many duties and responsibilities which affect the
society. The profession being chosen here is teacher who educates and trains students to become
the contributing and ethical members of the society. The file describes the historical emergence
of the occupation in the form of literature review. The short analysis of relevant policy and
legislation of the chosen professional and occupational group has been summarised. The impact
of the profession on society has been emphasise. Lastly, the success and downfalls of the
profession has been discussed.
Description of job
Teaching profession is an illustrious job where teachers not only help shape the careers of their
students but also teach them valuable lessons of life to foster an upbringing in them which can
help build a better society. The main duties of the teachers are:
A) To take the morning assembly session speaking of school, to infuse a sense of discipline
and belief from the start of the day.
B) To make sure that the students are following the rules and regulations of the school.
C) To impart lessons in a way that can help pupils of all intellectual categories like emphasis
more on the slow learners to make them come at grid (Sonia,2017).
D) To teach students on national curriculum guidelines within the special subject areas.
E) Encouraging student participation in lessons and other activities related to school.
F) Assessing the behaviour in terms of conduct and progress report in sports and academics.
G) Helping in smooth running and administration of school.
Types of service provided by teachers
Teaching profession is one which has a large scope in terms of establishments. A teacher may
lend their services in school viz. primary or secondary. A teacher can be one who teaches at a
