This report analyses the preferences of ice cream flavours among high school students using data handling and business intelligence techniques. The report includes findings, results, and discussions on the analysis of the survey data of 200 students. The majority of the students preferred the vanilla flavour of ice cream. The report also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using SPSS and Excel for data analysis.

Introduction
The provided report document includes analysis of data for which assistance to a local
company will be provided through analysis of the survey that will consist data on 200 high
school students. For the stated report better terms of evaluation are being established by
considering variables of preferences of ice cream, video game scores and puzzle game scores

From the analysis of tabular presentation of data, it can be interpreted that out of the total
pool of students i.e., 200 most of them preferred the vanilla flavour of ice-cream. The frequency
of students who preferred vanilla flavour counted to 47.5% which estimates 95 students out of
the total students. The next favourite flavour for the ice cream was reported as strawberry which
was reported under the frequency of 58 students.

From the interpretation of above bar chart, it can be said that out of the total number of
students selected for the survey which counts to 200. In this sample size selection, there was an
average count of male and female students. With reflecting the statistics provided, it can be said
that 91 of them were male and 109 were female.

From the evaluation of the above statistical table, it can be analysed that the mean value
was obtained at 1.82 which supports the average count of the variables under the analysis. The
data support the discussion that most of the students preferred strawberry flavour rather than
chocolate. From the analysis of the median which signifies the middle value of the data. It can be
said that no such mid-value exists between both the paired variables.
Findings and results
From the findings of the data set presented, it can be said that the majority of the students
preferred the vanilla flavour of ice cream. Through the evaluation of the interpretation obtained,
it can be said that there was a total of 200 students were selected for the sample size. It can be
said that there was almost an equal proportion of males and females in the sample size. This
included 91 males and 109 females. Furthermore, it can find out that most of the candidates who
were the students preferred to have the vanilla flavour ice cream. The cluster analysis refers to an
exploratory analysis that emphasis identifying structures within the data. The provided analysis
is also recognised as the segmentation analysis (Collins, 2021).
Discussion
By taking relevant information into consideration several discussions with regard to
common data mining and text mining methods that can be used in the business. These methods
are inclusive of information extraction, clustering, summarisation and many more. Such methods
guide the extraction of better information for the project and determining effective ways under
which appropriate information and data can be extracted. For the provided context in which 200
pool of candidates for the survey was being selected who were students of the school. This
carried the discussions in regards to segmenting the variables and providing relative information
which is needed by the business managers (Huang and et. al., 2021).
There are various advantages as well as disadvantages of using SPSS and excel that
supports relevant practical examples and present discussions in the table. This allows managers
of the firm to carry effective research in the business market and determine productive measures
on the basis of which results can be obtained (Isbell and et. al., 2022).

software-oriented therefore is unable to access

being regulated through use of Excel (Zeid,
Abdelazim and Shahin, 2021).
Lack of control and security stays at the
foremost disadvantage for using Excel.
The easy checking of data and information
stored through excel is being enabled by using
excel.
The software of excel is vulnerable to fraud or
corruption which is covered under another
disadvantage for using excel.
Conclusion
From the analysis of the above report document, it can be concluded that there was
respective relevance in choosing the flavour of ice cream by students of the school who took part
in the survey was being analysed. This included analysing the relevant data with regard to
