Scenario You have been hired as an IT Manager at Ransford College. The College needs a new Learning Management system due to the increased number of students. Currently, students and trainers are using a paper-based approach, but as the college grows this approach is not practical any more, as it affects the students experience and the quality of the education provided. More specifically: Students need to handwrite their assessments or to develop Word Documents separately and print them out which is not cost effective All assessments need to be printed out instead of being uploaded to and LMS which takes up a lot of time and money. Teachers need to provided feedback and results in the old-fashioned handwritten way which takes up a lot of their time. Students can’t check their results until the end of the term when the trainers submit everything to the administration staff and then they only provide the academic progress as per student’s request. This is currently very time consuming and non-practical. Students do not have access to any training material and trainers need to email all additional resources to each student. Your task is to review the current process and find new industry specific technologies (and more specifically a good learning management system) to help improve the quality of education provided and ensure the student experience is enhanced, easy and enjoyable. The college currently has 350 students. Your budget is $20,000 per year. Your timeframe is 9 weeks. More specifically you will need to complete all tasks in the table below. Ransford Learning Management System Research and describe in detail Ransford’s LMS (200 words). More specifically describe the trends and application of Axcellerate. This learning management system is software application that has been designed for the documentation, reporting, tracking, delivery and the administration of the courses of education, programs of training and the development and learning program. The concept of LMS could be observed as the necessity for the colleges and the educational institutes as it helps in the identification and the learning of the gaps, reporting and use the analytical data. This LMS is focusses on the delivery of the online learning but it also provides help to several uses as it acts as the platform for the online content, that includes the courses which are both based on the synchronous and asynchronous. This LMS offers the management of classroom for the training that is led by the instructor and in the higher education it provides the necessary materials for the identification of any gaps in the method of the education. This LMS is used for the creation of the course content that is structured professionally. The teachers could images, text, add, and format the texts. This helps in the controlling the content that could be used by the student, efficiently track the process of studying and then engage the students with the tools of content. Research and describe the industry technology standards used in Colleges in Australia The increasing connectivity and the urbanisation all across Australia is helping and enhancing the education that is formal and non-formal standards. The access to the internet has improved significantly along with the user interfaces and the services and context in the online environments. Some of the benefits of the industry technology are the support and improvement of the provisioning of online learning, the enabling of the connection among the teachers and the students on a regular basis using the platform of internet. Outline and explain five (5) techniques of gathering information Interviews: The interviews could be conducted personally or over any telephone. The questions in this type of information gathering is focussed on the particular subject, clear and it encourages the responses that are open-ended. The nature of the interviews is commonly qualitative. Questionnaires: The responses could be analysed using the methods of quantitative approach by the assigning of the numerical values. The analysis of the results could be done easily compared to the other methods of information gathering. Focus groups: Any facilitated interview of any groups with the individuals that shares some common ground could help in gaining information. It gathers the information regarding the collected perspectives and the shared opinions. The responses are commonly coded in the appropriate categories and then it is analysed thematically. Observations: This method helps in the effective study of the dynamics of any situation, count of the frequency of the behaviour of the target or any other behaviour that is indicated using the requirements of the evaluation. Records and documents: It consists of the examining of the prevailing data in any form such as the minutes of meeting, databases, financial records or the logs of attendance. This method could be inexpensive for gathering of information but still it could be considered as the incomplete source of data.
