INTRODUCTION
Immigration is the term that describes the global movement of individuals to any specific nation
of which they do not belong to and are no the native residents and hold no citizenship that
could permit them to settle permanently in that nation but can be there to gain employment
and can stay for the predetermined time frame depending on the laws and regulations of that
nation. The UK is considered as one of the main hubs which is desired by most of the people to
stay or work. But now a day's immigration is no more an easy process immigrating to the UK is
tough due to the policies made by the government of UK and many procedures are carried
away before deciding the criteria of eligibility for the ones who are interested in coming to the
UK being the immigrant for that nation. This essay is entirely based on the increasing
immigrants in and the problems that are taking place due to increasing number of immigrants.
Along with the precautions and steps that must be taken in order to solve this problem. This
essay discusses both the effect of legal and illegal immigrants on the not only nation but the
society and the local residents and there tradition and culture.

IMMIGRATION
The term immigration explains about the people who travel from nation to another in order to
grab the better job opportunities and gain work experience. The UK is said to be the preferable
destination for the individual who wishes to work in other nation as immigrants. It has been
noted that in past two decades the immigration has increased in a tremendous amount within
the UK as the people belonging to the UK countries mostly travel as immigrants in the UK. The
increasing number of immigrants has majorly impacted negatively to the local residents within
the UK as it affects the job opportunities, income level and life quality of local residents of UK
(Hollifield, et al. 2014). It has been challenging for any country to maintain an appropriate
balance among the immigration level and the influence that globalization has. Immigration has
both negative as well as positive impact on the monetary of the nation as positively legal
immigration is the reason to get experienced people n the country that helps in productive
results ultimately enhancing the finical status of the nation. On the other hand, illegal
immigrants are a threat to domestic people as it leads to high antipathy and also increases the
competition level in the business class people. The immigration is the reason of increasing an
effective workforce and diversified working pattern because the new people with different
working style will enlarge the view of business and supply of information by an individual
belonging to variable culture and tradition.
Immigration has been a topic of apprehension among the domestic residents in the UK and it is
influencing them in many aspects. For example, the immigrants could be competency such as
engineers, scholars, doctors etc, while if there are people with a low competency that they will
need proper training that will lead to cause a high amount of investments. Also, such workforce
will lessen the work quality and damage the working culture and will lead to demoralizing the
skilled people. While competent people will have new ideas for providing services that will tend

are the people in the age group that is efficient in working. These are the individual who is
in search of a job and that is the reason that creates threat among the employees who
were working in those companies, industries from the start. Also, it is sure that the
immigrated people will search for the opportunities and will also sooner or later call there

depends on the UK that will lead to influence the proportion of the labour. The other major
problem is that the illegal immigrants get ready to work in the lesser amount of salary that
minimizes the cost of consumption. The workers working on lower pay skill leads to a loss
in a job of the local community resulting in the problems of unemployment.
 SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC PROBLEMS: Due to the increased number of immigrated people it
resulted in the extra population that also influenced the environmental situation within the

needed to be approved that leads to an immense burden on the immigration department.
There are many chances when few documents could be missed or not properly checked
and this can allow entry of criminal people in the nation.

 CHANGE IN THE CULTURE: It is noted that the immigrants have been the reason of
changing a culture in the UK with a quick speed. The immigrants entering the UK will have
variable culture, tradition, values and beliefs as compared to the culture followed by the
native people of UK. It is believed that people now in UK people could not understand each
other the way they used to as now individual have variable languages and traditions that
make it difficult to understand each other's emotions and feelings.
 INCREASING POPULATION: Due to the overcrowding of the migrated people the UK has to
face many problems such as shortage of the houses as increasing number of people has
increased the demand of housing (Latif, 2015). Also, much population has led to increasing
the problems such as urban pollution and jamming within the UK. The increased
population resulted in more needs of the services provided to the public for instance
schools, NHS centres etc.
 RESISTANCE OF THE EMPLOYEES: When the workers that are hired for the purpose of the
job are of dissimilar ethnic backgrounds than it is a tough task for the owners to assimilate
those people who are immigrants from different backgrounds. In order to assimilate those
employees, the owners have to establish several training events that help employees to
establish a stable working environment keeping aside there different cultures (Alfano, et al.
2016). These training events help the workers to share same work platform and a healthy
work culture and all this needs a high amount of cost as well as a time that creates much
pressure on the management department of the organization.
 HIGHLY EDUCATED IMMIGRANTS: The immigrants who enter the UK and has higher
educational qualifications, as well as knowledge, tends to grab the seats that are at higher
positions in any organizations that could be economically beneficially for the company and
nation but the local people are majorly affected by it and are demotivated as it might lead
to minimize their income as the company will have people with higher qualifications
(Hogan and Haltinner, 2015).

 REGULATION OF EFFECTIVE LAWS AND REGULATIONS: The government of UK must be
properly aware of the problems that are being rose due to the immigration and must
implement new rules and regulate appropriate laws with regards to concerned issues so
that it could help in reducing the effect of the increasing immigration level within the UK
(Lebedeva, et al. 2016).
 MINIMIZING THE NUMBER OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: The government and the
concerned authority must take the proper accountability of keeping a proper check on the
increasing illegal immigration by adopting strategies like timely verification of the workers,
verifying the information given by them, laws made must be strict so that it could help in
eliminating the number of illegal immigrants within the UK (Bardach and Patashnik, 2015).
Also, a quality check must be conducted to check people who are staying with temporary
visas and extending their stay without taking permission from the regulating bodies of a
nation.
 MINIMIZING THE NET MIGRATION: Net immigration means the difference among the total
number of immigrants entering to any nation and the total number of individuals leaving
any nation or area that is emigrants. If the net migration is minimized then the population
could be controlled in the UK.
 PROMOTING HIRING OF LOCAL WORKERS: The government of UK must promote the
hiring of the local people and must make laws that empower the rights of the local people.
This will help them in boosting the morale of the local people and will also protect the

working that are given to the undocumented immigrants in the UK and there working level
is the criteria to attaining legal status in the country and there working efficiency is
rewarded by giving them changes to gain legal position in the nation. It is seen that many
immigrants who stay in the UK are extremely capable and hardworking and has been
belonging to the UK for many years. Also, they accomplish the requirements in several
areas of work such as public services, technical areas and hospitality. So earned legalization
could help those propel to retain in the company and benefit both the organization and the
nation as well the immigrant residing for many years.
