INTRODUCTION
Every business organisation faces many uncertainties due to which the performance of
organisation is affected (Ferri, 2018). There are various factors that are responsible for the
declining of performance such as political instability, fluctuation of inflation rates, strikes or
lockdowns. In 2020 whole world is affected by the Covid-19, pandemic. It has affected the
business operations highly. It also affected the economic of scale and organisational culture of
the company. This project report is based on Data Art, an IT multinational company that engages
its in design and develops the support for the software. It was founded by Eugene Goland in
1997. It deals in various areas of Argentina and Bulgaria. The number of employees are working
in this organisation are approximately 500 as per 2021. This project report will cover the
environmental scanning tools and environmental analysis techniques along with its key drivers.
In addition to that, it will also cover the ethical dilemma that the company is facing after the
pandemic. The task 2 will cover the reflective part of the learning outcomes that have acquired
by this module with some examples that me be beneficial for taking effective decisions.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
For every business organisation, it is needed to analyse the environment in order to anticipate the
changes which are related to uncertainties. They may impact adverse on the business operations
and lowers the performance of organisation. Porter's five model and PESTEL analysis are the
tools and techniques that are used in analysing the environment.
Porter's Five Forces Model
This framework is used to analyse the factors that affects the business operations and its
performance (Kim, 2017). After the pandemic many companies have to to shut their business as
they are unable to operate their business in non profitable environment.
Competition between rival entities – As the company is dealing in technological sector so
there is a cut throat competition in the market. Many companies offers similar product as
cheaper price that becomes very challenging for the company to reduce the price so that it
can face competition. In case of Art data, there are many similar companies thart provides
same services but due to pandemic, some small companies shut their business and
decreases competition.

Threat of New Entrant – It is needed a huge investment while entering in this industry. So
due to the investment barrier it becomes ease for the company to face competition
(Litvin, 2019). For the entering company, it is difficult to survive in front of big
companies like Art data.
Bargaining power of suppliers – The company should opt the right supplier who provide
standard components. The licensed software supplied by suppliers may demand for more
as only few suppliers are available in the market. The whole business of Art data rely on
the software that are needed to be purchased at any cost. The supplier companies can also
charge annual fee for the up gradation. The service price may be hiked due to additional
charges.
Bargaining power of customers – In this service based IT industry, it allows the
customers to opt the service by different vendors who are offering similar service at
lower price (Moonen, 2017). The customer have the ability to influence the price and
quantity. When the number of customers are fewer and the number of sellers are high
then the customer can switch. The buying power is low when the competitors are offering
different or unique product.
Threat to substitute products or services – This study helps in understanding the
switching from a product to another product of different country. The market have many
alternatives that enables customer to switch from one product to another. After the
pandemic, many companies tries to make sustainable position in the market and they
bringing innovation to their products.
PESTEL analysis
It may be defined as the tool or framework that can be used to analyse the external factors
that may impact an organisation. It is needed to analyse all the key factors that adversely affects
the functioning of the business. There are various risk involved in the environment. Following
are the factors that influences the functions of data Art.
Political – These factors relates to government rules and regulations that influences an
economy or whole industry. These may be some legislations or economic policies. The
taxation rules are very rigid in UK that makes difficulty in operating the business. In
addition to that, due to political instability the company face many difficulty in running
its business.

Economic – These factors can affect the long term project of software based companies
(Pergelova and Angulo-Ruiz, 2017). Rate of inflations and fluctuation in exchange rate

phases whether the company is in its expansion or in declining phase. Unemployment
rate should also be taken into consideration while scanning the economic environment.

Technological – As the technology is upgrading day by day so it is needed to upgrade the
technological resources in order to make the work effective and faster. In software and
mobile application based company technology affects the operations in its industry. The
business potential can be changed if everything is based on Artificial intelligence,
technology research and automation. The company also involves in customised software
according to need of customers. It deals in B2B and B2C sector which helps in covering a
major part of market. This helps in understanding the existing technology and identifying
how it can be made better.
Environmental – In IT industry, environmental do not play an important role as it does
not affect the elements of environment. But somehow it indirectly affects in terms of
radiations. During the pandemic, to connect millions of people at a same time, a virtual
platform is provided that emits radiations. The radiations are harmful for human beings
and thus affects environment.
Legal - The business organisation may affect the business either in internal or external
level. So it is understand all the legal rules and regulations that might affect the software
industry (Ugrin, Pearson and Nickle, 2018). The company should operate with standard
safety, legal policies and labor laws in order to carry out business functions smoothly.

Intelligence which helps in creating insights of the customers data. It helps in
understanding the customers demand and conduct research to provide with better
and feasible solution to customers. It also enhances the culture of organisation s it
helps in understanding what drives to work effectively in an organisation (Aktar,
2018).
Supportive government policies – The government policies of UK makes the
company to operate in pandemic. During the pandemic, several policies are made
in order to provide relaxation to people of various industry. This enables company
to operate smoothly.

below: Stories: This refers to the occurrences in the history of the company which are talked
about inside and outside the company. In context of Data Art, the story of global
expansion of the company from United States to becoming a multi-national software

best results. Collaboration and continuous expansion is a part of organizational culture at data

create an environment which kept employees united and focus towards attaining more clients and
surviving through the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to this usage of advanced technology
such as artificial intelligence is also embedded in organization culture of data art which helped

This module looks at the are of workplace culture and the ways in which efficiency of the
company is impacted by workplace culture. I have developed various skills while completing this
module which will support my future professional growth. In addition to this the knowledge I
acquired trough this module on topics related to organizational culture and efficiency will
improve my skills to navigate in a professional workplace by understanding the organizational
culture of the company. I will also be able to use the knowledge gained from the module to
understand ways in which organizational culture is affecting my productivity so that I am able to
deliver the best results to the company.
My research skills have improved during the module workplace culture and its impact on
organizational efficiency as participating in the module provided me various opportunities for
researching on organizational culture topics relevant to to current state of the corporate world. I
developed report on COVID-19 ad how it affected organizational performance and culture.
These reports and assignments which I completed during the module improved my research
skills and also build my knowledge about the current issues related to organizational culture and
performance.
The skill and knowledge I developed in context of research skills will help me perform
effectively during my employment as I will be able to understand the organizational culture by
researching on the company and examining variables of the organizational culture. I will be able
to use my research skills to prepare professional reports which are easily understandable and help
attain business objectives. In addition to this the knowledge gained from this module about to
classification of organizational culture and models of organizational culture will help me
