INTRODUCTION
Many academics have spoken out about the possible consequences of Brexit for the United
Kingdom (Ichijo, 2019). Given the fact that many economists had foreseen the effects of the
European Union referendum as both optimistic and negative, this research proposal aims to bring
into perspective United Kingdom's economic impacts on Brexit. Following the United
Kingdom's vote in favour of leaving the European Union on June 23, 2016, the country began
the process of exiting the single market. This created confusion between the UK and the EU with
the many economists expecting recession out of this uncertainty. With UK and EU not being in
good terms over Brexit, a deal about the UK leaving the EU was made. The agreement says that,
since it is not a member of the EU, the UK will be permitted to trade free of charge at a global
level and in a single market.
Summary of the research
The citizens of the United Kingdom are split about whether or not the country should leave
the European Union. This research provides an overview as to whether the referendum by the
UK to leave the EU would be fruitful or not by obtaining a practical argument on for or against
Bexit. The study can produce practical arguments by examining political factors, and include an
overview of the directions the UK government seeks to take.
Since the thesis will use both mixed research methods and analytical methods, the pragmatic
model of inquiry will be the best fit for this research because it embraces both analytical and
mixed research methods. The verifiable case can then be made after both the quantitative and
qualitative evidence has been analysed thoroughly.
