1.0 LITERATURE REVIEW
1.1 Introduction
The idea of using internet has created many effects to fields of work in different countries
like the United States, England, and Britain. Basing on the United States, there are ideas, which
were innovated, and among the technological ideas that were innovated in the earlier years was
Internet banking. Online banking is a system that was invented to help people who transact on a
day-to-day basis. (Popovič, Oleveira, &Martins, 2014). Internet banking created a big difference
to the industry as it changed the way of customers and the staff itself. The customers were now
able to do any transaction even at home or workplace. Internet banking helped in generating a
very big deal within the banking industry and it created a big impact on the country and other
countries that gained the idea from the United States (Pearson & Nor, 2015). Internet banking
was introduced at the time, which the Internet itself as a medium was slow to takeoff.
Many people have different views about online banking which has helped customers to
be more confident and sure about their money as it allows the customers to have their personal
identification number which cannot be known by anyone else. Therefore, it has ensured that
there is a lot of changes in the banking industry as many people have congratulated the industry
as they can now shop online while at home and pay the bills easily, make deposits and
withdrawals also at any time. In the United States anything that is done outside the bank but on
the Internet it is Internet banking.

A research helps in getting accurate information from customers and staff. A research
was carried out in several banks at the United States where several banks officials, staff and

central question, which was developed, enabled each member to contribute to the topic and
explore. A large percentage of people talked about the advantages of online banking but a less
number of people gave out the disadvantages.
The research had different importance as it enables the banking business to succeed.
Many of the succeeding banks in the United States have succeeded because of online banking
(Yoon & Jeong, 2013). Many people to become aware of Internet banking and this may be
through television adverts, shows, and movies. When people become aware of Internet banking,
therefore, it through the media, they act as a tool that instills knowledge and learning to people
for better understanding of online banking. The research, which was carried, also helped people
to understand many issues concerning mobile banking, for example, its advantages and
disadvantages, which may be less than the advantages. Research also helped to prove lies and
truths concerning Internet banking that people had created and took them as serious issues that
deal with online banking. It also helps the banking officials to find out the new ideas and
opportunities they can innovate to make online banking easy to both the illiterate and literate
people in the United States.
