To mitigate risks, participants will not provide personal details while responding to questions. To ensure tikanga is adhered to, the research will consult with the Maori elders, and general questions will be asked to respect their cultural property. The accuracy of the data will be ensured by using neutral questions and reliable sources for collecting information. Overall, the research will provide insights into the importance of diversity in learning and its relevance to students' lives after school.

The aim of the Research and hypothesis
In the current situation in New Zealand, Britto, (2018) argues that, there are thousands of
students pursuing their education in the country with the domestic students; however, there is a
low level of interaction between the two groups of the students. The low level of interaction calls
for the need for multicultural classrooms that will bring about a better understanding between the
domestic students and the international students. In this research proposal, it will investigate the
effects of multicultural classrooms on students in tertiary education. Consequently, this research
will show educational providers that multicultural classrooms will benefit the nation.
Background of the research
Every year, the government received thousands of students both nationally and
internationally who want to study. However, apart from gaining skills in their area of study, these
students expect to interact and share their different ways of living. It is essential to note that even
the domestic students come from different cultural groups, and sometimes they get shocked
when others practice their way of life. According to Cherng & Davis, (2017) when there is no
multicultural interaction, these students end up grouping themselves based on the region they
come from in the country. However, from the research, multicultural classrooms are one of the
ways for the New Zealand government to ensure that there is diversity in the country. After
studying, these students will seek jobs from different parts of the country. These parts of the
country may be of different cultural groups, and the graduates may have a challenge in adapting
to the new culture in reference to Knoblauch & Chase, (2015).

Impact and outcomes
The result of this research will assist in restructuring the system of education that is currently in
the country. The study will give people an opportunity to see the importance of having diversity
in learning as it also relates to life of students after school.
Project summary
The project will involve people from different communities in New Zealand together
with the government officials who are the immediate victims of the current situation. Apart from
that, there will be different ways of collecting data that will bring out the accuracy of the
outcome. For instance, face to face interview and questionnaire. After the completion of the
research, the result will be scrutinized and presented to relevant authority to view the pros and
cons of implementation multicultural classrooms in the country. It is also necessary to
understand that people may have different perception concerning the matter, every decision will
be highly valued to prevent bias according to Krosnick, (2018).
Information that will be provided to participants and how they will give their consent
During this research, it will make use of social media and hard copy papers to offer the
participants an overview of the multicultural classrooms. The participants will be able to read
what the multicultural classrooms mean and give their feedback on whether there is a need to
have those type of classes or not according to Rubin, (2017).
Privacy of the participants.

Confidentiality is a crucial matter to everyone in the country. As many people would not
like their identity to be known by everyone, this research also has a mechanism of ensuring that
they implement the same. One of the main ways of achieving privacy is that the participants will
not give their details but only respond to the question.
The risks to participants and how they are going to be mitigated
Some of the hazards that the participants may encounter is the leakage of their details to
other people who should not have the information. However, the effective way to counter the
risk is to tell the participants not to provide their personal details while filling the forms or
replying to questions on the social media platforms.
How to deal with Maori participants and ensure tikanga is adhered to in the research
The Maori people has specific way of life they call tikanga. For this research to ensure
that tikanga is adhered to, it will consult the elders of the community who assist in restricting the
questions of the research.
i. The impact this research will have on the Maori is that it will influence the way they
interact with other people. It is looking at the effects of having multicultural
classrooms that may also influence the Maori culture.
ii. The advice to Maori people is that they should have awareness concerning
multicultural classrooms before participating in the research. Some think that the
study aims at interfering with their way of life which is not the truth. However, Maori
leaders will play a role in informing people about the research and convincing them to
participate.

iii. When it comes to the matter of respect of the cultural property, the Maori people
will answer general questions which do not focus directly to their culture but general
knowledge.
How to ensure the accuracy of the data from the participants.
The first is to avoid any bias the questions will be neutral, and no participant will feel
targeted according to Moreno, (2015). Secondly, is to distribute the items evenly in the country
so that various people give out their consents. The last step is to use reliable sources for
collecting information like computer programs.
