1IMPACT OF MULTICULTURALISM
Pluralism refers to the coexistence of people who belong to different culture, religion
or race. Cultural diversity always benefits a country as well as its people in many ways.
Being friends with neighbors of different religion and cultural background open our minds
and enhance our knowledge. It gives us to enjoy several festivals and add more colors to our
lives.
Canada is very rich in cultural diversity. Canada’s development and success is
attributable to the immigrants. A large number of the immigrants add to the labor force of
Canada, which in turn enhance the productivity as well as Gross Domestic Product. The
credits for the advancement of science and technology of Canada also goes to the Asian as
well as other Asian countries. According to my opinion, looking at the economic, social and
scientific development of Canada the Government should ammend laws in favor of the
immigrants. Also the people of Canada should broaden their mind to maintain integrity.
I think that the people of Canada should abolish the baseless myths related to the
immigrants or refugees. There is a belief that due to the advent of immigrants, crime has been
increased in Canada. Again, some people think that there is no waiting line for refugees. The
government should come forward to break these myths by providing equal opportunities to
distressed people, without categorize them into two sections-immigrants and Canadian
citizens. Also, the Government should publish economic journal, which shows the increase
in the rate of skilled workforce as well as in GDP after the advent of immigrant and refugee
during several years. In addition, organization that carry on scientific researches may publish
the evidences, which prove the contributions of scientists who migrated permanently from
other countries.
I always dream of working in one of the top MNCs of the world, where I may meet
colleagues from different countries, immigrants or peers from different ethno-cultural groups.

2IMPACT OF MULTICULTURALISM
I know a healthy work culture can only be maintained if people accept and adjust with
diversity in the workplace. MNCs need to look after the fact that often, the immigrants
become the victims of the rules and regulations, which reflect the biasness of the company to
the employees who are citizens of Canada. This biasness reflects in recruitment as well as
promotion of employees. They need to improvise their laws regarding employees who are
immigrants. They need to be unbiased and immigrants with talent and efficiency should be
recruited. In order to avoid discrimination and collision at workplace, they need to motivate
or reward all eligible employees without judging whether the employee is an immigrant or
not.
Hence, it can be concluded that, the Government should propagate that the cultural
diversity which is actually attributable to the refugees and immigrants, is beneficial for
Canada. Also, Canadian Government should conduct investigations and impose strict laws
and ensure Canadian people that the rate of crime will not increase. Such evidences will
evoke faith for the immigrants as well as refugees in the minds of the people of Canada and
they will be able to dispel all the flimsy myths related to immigrants and refugees.
