Introduction
Overview:
Over the last decade the percentage representing Canadian people struggling with poverty
has been increased at slow pace (Allahdini, 2014). A significant portion of people in Canada are
not able to earn minimum wage for living (Loignon, et al., 2015). In fact, 746,000 Canadians
who are primary income earners income earners, are considered as “working poor (Jackman &
Porter, 2014). This study will focus on the severity of poverty in Canada. Along with this, this
study will also find out the actual data associated with the impact of poverty of a specific low-
income group in Canada and the fruitfulness of the initiatives taken by the State regarding this
issue.
Problem statement:
Hence, the research problem which will be addressed in this study is concerned about the
effectiveness of initiatives taken by the State to combat acute poverty which is affective people
of Canada substantially. This also involves child rearing problems faced by families earning
below the minimum wage level (Blumenthal & Rothwell, 2018), workers lacking monetary and
other working benefits. Finally the research problem will focus on the effectiveness of several
initiative of the State in this regard, which will involve statistical estimation measuring the
effectiveness of the Staes’s poverty reduction strategies.

Research aim:
 Measuring the impacts of poverty on the people of Canada along with the effectiveness of
Staes’s poverty reduction strategy.
Research objectives:
 To understand the severity of poverty, in Canada.
 To understand how the people of Canada are affected by poverty.
 To understand the child-rearing problems faced by the low-income families in Canada
 To estimate and understand the strategy of the State to eliminate child-rearing problems
faced by the low-income families in Canada
 To understand the poor condition of the workers earning below the minimum wage level
stipulated by the State at small firms.
 To estimate and understand the strategy of the State to provide financial assistance to the
workers earning below the minimum wage level stipulated by the State at small firms.
Research questions:
 What is the general poverty index of Canada?
 How are the people of Canada affected by poverty?
 How severe is the child-rearing problems faced by the low-income families in Canada?
 How effective is the strategy of the State to eliminate child-rearing problems faced by the
low-income families in Canada?
