This research proposal aims to assess the impact of perspectives of strategy on real-world strategies adopted by firms. It will explore the process of strategy formulation and how the three identified theories (industry-based view theory, resource-based view theory, and institutional-based view theory) can be incorporated into strategic decision making. The research will also explore the relationship between strategic leadership and the cognitive abilities of the leaders. The research will be based on a quantitative approach and will use questionnaires and surveys to gather data. A thorough content analysis of a broad range of published materials will be carried out to correlate the findings of the existing research to the formulated hypotheses.
