1. CHANGE IN ATTITUDES TO WELFARE SYSTEM OVER RECENTTIMES IN BRITAINA welfare system is defined as an assistance which is given by government of country tofulfil the needs of any individual. Amount given in welfare system differs according to the stateand country (Bradshaw, 2016). In the present scenario, welfare system in Britain has beenchanged drastically. Attitude of British people has changed towards the welfare system.Spending of government on poor section of society has declined in the past decades. Public ofthe country thinks that benefits which should be provided to jobless women are enough for theirlivelihoods. People also describe that they should be given with enough amount of welfare to live.56% of public thinks that the welfare amount given to unemployed people is not enough tosurvive and living a standard life (Yeates, 2014). Other people think that the benefit given to anyunemployed person is more than enough to survive. Labour community of the country has foundthat employment given to them by government is sometimes at risk. . At the time of recession,employment of labour is at risk. However, public is liking the welfare given to disabled people.Government of country is giving benefits to disabled people by giving pensions and extraspending. Support for health and education has been improved in the previous decades. Public ofnation is getting benefits from social advantages given by the government. 13% of people thinkthat benefits for jobless people should be given with more priority.2. ASSESSMENT OF IMPACT OF WELFARE STATEWelfare assessment is essential to identify the impact of benefit given by government.There are various approaches to assess the impact of welfare state. Following are the approachesof assessing welfare state: Survey method: To assess the impact of welfare policy on public, a survey method can beused in which questions can be asked to people. In survey, benefits of welfare systemshould be asked to people living in the nation (Yeates, ed., 2014). Individuals can beasked to rate how welfare policy has helped them in their livelihood. Response ofindividuals on benefits given by the government of UK could be asked. Questionnaireshould be made in which different questions should be asked to public about the impactof welfare on their lifestyle. Interview of each person who is getting benefits from1
