INTRODUCTION
In the present time, healthy life is very important for the people because due to unhealthy
diet, improper scheduled, lack of physical exercises, various kinds of health disorder have been
occurred in the human being. In addition to this, age is another one of the factor by which health
of individual can affected. In different level of age, body system, Harmon and structure can
changed in the human being. In a simple word it can be said that ageing process is characterised
by a series of deleterious events that impact physiological and anatomical function. In this
human body there are major three sectors such as cardiovascular, pulmonary and muscle
function. The major objective of this essay is to impact of ageing process on these three area
such as cardiovascular, pulmonary and muscle function. (Handy, 2014) Cardiovascular system
in the human body is consisted with heart, blood, vessels and blood. In this includes main
function such as nutrition, oxygen, hormones to cells. On the other hand pulmonary function is
the system under which task can take of the lungs and exhale the air. Pulmonary function test
defines that how well the lungs take in and exhale air and how efficiently they transfer oxygen
into the blood. On the other hand muscle function is function of movement in the human body.
Muscle is the only tissue in the body that has the ability to contract and therefore move the other
parts of the body. In the present essay, impact of ageing process on these mentioned area has
been systematically addressed. In addition to this, how physical exercise and healthy diet can
assist top the human being in phases of different age has been also discussed.

According to the view of Acton, (2013) Ageing process is characterised by a series of
deleterious events that impact physiological and anatomical function. It is a process becoming
older which refers to the human being, many animals, fungi etc. In the human, ageing represents
the accumulation of the changes in the human being over time, encompassing physical and
psychological and social changes. In the opinion of Adams, (2007) ageing is a process or group
of processes that with the passage of time to lead to a loss of adaptability, functional impairment
and eventually, death. There are various kinds of theories of ageing such programmed ageing
theory, somatic mutation theory, wear and tear theory, cross thinking theory etc. There are three
major theories which can be concerned with the ageing process. The three theories are the
activity theory, disengagement theory and the continuity theory. The activity theory is also

termed as the implicit theory which says that the person can be successfully aged when the older
ones stay even more active and also manage doing the social interactions. The disengagement
theory states that ageing can be considered as the mutual withdrawal or also can be termed as dis
engagement which may result in the minimized interaction. The continuity theory may be termed
as one of the major theories that considers the development of people in older age.
According to the view of Andrews, Reddy and Whelan, (2011) Cardiovascular system in
the human body is consisted with heart, blood, vessels and blood. In this includes main function
such as nutrition, oxygen, hormones to cells. It is very important system in the human body
which plays a very crucial role in operating human which control and operate the heart, blood
vessels, and the 5 lilers of the blood that the blood vessel transport. Cardiovascular system is the
powerful system which is responsible for transporting of oxygen, nutrients, hormones and
cellular waste products throughout the body. With assistance of this system, blood circulation
can occurs in the human body and heart can work in effective manner. In the opinion of while
individual age enhance then this Cardiovascular system can also affect according to the several
period of age in the human body. Due to changing the age, heart and blood circulation and vessel
can also influence in the human body. Some changes on the heart and blood vessel can occurs
with and according to the age. Major heart have two side that right side pump blood to the lung
to receive the oxygen and get rid of the carbon dioxide. The left side pumps oxygen rich blood to
body. Blood flows out of the heart through arteries, which branch out and get smaller and smaller
as they go into the tissues. Thus, if any human being grow up from their childhood to young age
then the pumping of the blood circulation can enhance and speed of taking oxygen and rid
carbon dioxide can also enhance. On the cardio pulmonary, there may be observed an increase
in the weight of the heart which can further result in the decrease of myocardial cells. In result to
this, it also however, maximizes the size of the remaining cells as it makes a sort of swelling in
the cells, thus makes them even more large. As the person ages, there is an increase in the left
ventricular and also, it is being observed in the atrial side of the left side. As ageing happens in a
human, the elasticity of the collagen also reduces in the internal layer of the blood vessels along
with the heart. IT however, decreases the aortic dis tensibility. When a person ages, at the time of
any activity, the EDV index of a human increases. The filling rate of the ventricular in the
diastole also minimizes to a huge extent. In the opinion of Billingsley and Lang, (2002) muscle
function in the human body is the soft tissue which found in human body. As the person ages, the

muscles of the person also starts shrinking and losing mass as well. The overall number of
muscle fibres also decreases. There is a water content that is present in the tendons and its starts
decreasing as the person starts ageing. The loss of muscles and its functioning because of the
increasing age is also considered as Sarcopenia which means the loss of the strength between
muscles and also is considered as a major component for the development of frailty. With
increase in age, there are various gross changes that occur within the muscles. The increased age
also makes some losses in the motor neutrons which further decreases the strength between them
and starts getting loosened. When a person starts ageing, there seems to be some changes in the
endocrine function as well such as increased insulin is being observed. Along with it, there has
been a decrease in the growth hormone as well.
According to the view of Entwistle and Quick, (2006) there are several kinds of changes
occurred in the human body according to the several phases of age. In every stage of age,
cardiovascular, pulmonary and muscle function can influenced. In order to overcome the
negative impact of the ageing process in the human body, individual should focus on the
physical activities, exercise and healthy diet. In the opinion of Fakhimi and Probert, (2013)
physical exercise plays a very crucial role in the human body by which they can prevent their
heath and live healthy life. One of the major benefit of physical exercise is related to the
controlling of weight. While ageing process enhance then cardiovascular, pulmonary and muscle
function of the human body can negatively affect as people's capability and ability can also
affect. Functions of blood vessel and heart can also affect due to the changing age in the human
being body. In this aspect, physical exercise can help in maintain the weight because obesity is
one of the major problem among the human being by which several kinds of health disorder can
occurs. According to the view of Goodwin, Gruen and Iles, (2006) physical exercise can assist to
the human being in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Heart disease and stroke is major
leading causes of death in the country which can occurs according to the ageing process. In order
to over come this issue in the body, physical exercise plays a very crucial role. In addition to this,
with help of physical exercise, risk of cancer can also reduce within the human being. Thus, it
can be said that physical exercise is one of the significant strategy to overcome the impact of
ageing in the several areas such as cardiovascular, pulmonary and muscle function. These all
system in the human body can control and manage according to the different phases of life.
According to the view of the view of Griffith and Tengnah, (2011) healthy diet is another one of

the major practices to prevent the individual from the different ageing disorder in the human life.
While ageing process changed then individual body system can negatively influence and various
changes occurred in it like blood vessel, heart etc. In order to manage and maintain all of these
things in the human body, healthy diet is another significant thing which can prevent the
individual from disorder and other health issues. With assistance of healthy diet like fruit,
vegetable, whole grains and low fat dairy people can reduce the risk of heart attack by maintain
the blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
Thus, from the entire discussion about the impact of ageing on the three area of the
cardiovascular, pulmonary and muscle function it has been analysed that there is huge impact of
the ageing process on these areas. With assistance of the healthy diet and proper physical
exercise, people can assist them from the disease and disorder related to heart, blood vessel etc.

From this entire essay it has been analysed that in the human being life, ageing process
plays a very significant role because according to the different age of life individual health can
also influence. The three area in the human being body such as cardiovascular, pulmonary and
muscle function can largely affect by the ageing process. In order to overcome the negative
impact of this developing of ageing in different phases of life, individual should focus on the
physical activities, exercise and healthy diet. With assistance of the physical activities and
exercise, individual can balance between the heart and blood circulation in the human body.
