Introduction/Project Background
A new customer relationship management system has been implemented in XYZ
organization and the staffs and employees of the organization are required to be formally trained
about the working principle of the software. This project requires systematic planning and
execution so that it can be completed within 20 days. The report discusses the activities that are
required to be performed by the team and the project manager through every stages of life cycle
of a project, which include, initiation, planning, execution, controlling and monitoring and
closure. The report further outlines the effect of PMP on team members.
1. Activities to be performed
1.1. Initiation Phase
This is the primary stage of project lifecycle. The key activity that is performed by the
project team is to undertake a feasibility study. This project is feasible to be completed within
20 days and the project budget is approved by the organization. The next activity that is to be
performed by the project manager is development of business case and project charter (Stark,
2015). Along with that, in the initiation phase, the project manager assigns specific roles to the
project team to set up the final team who will be executing the project.
1.2. Planning Phase
This phase deals with preparation of a working plan for proper execution of a project.
The main activity that is to be performed by the project manager is developing a work
breakdown structure (WBS). Based on the WBS developed, the project manager develops a
working schedule that is to be followed for project execution (Hussein, Ahmad & Zidane, 2015).
