2IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FORU.S. POSTAL SERVICES Part 1 The United States Postal Service (USPS) which is popularly known as The Post Office, or the U.S. Mail is an agency of the branch of United States Government. The main work of the post office is to provide postal service in United States including its insular areas as well as the associated states. The first general postman who was allocated in the year 1972 is Benjamin Franklin. USPS operates the largest civilian vehicle fleet in the whole world. Regardless of geography, price and quality the USPS serves all the Americans. According to Heath and Norman (2014),currently it has about 6, 44,124 active employees and also around 2, 11,264 vehicles.It has an exclusive access to letter boxes which have a “U.S. Mail” as well as personal letter boxes in United States. It now has to face various challenges from the private package delivery services such as United Parcel Services and FedEx. Services like international mail, military mail, money orders, passports, and paying for merchandise are offered to the customers. The United States Postal service operated as a fundamental service will be provided to the people of the country by the Government of the United States which will be authorized by Constitution and created by an Act of Congress. The mission of the organization is to provide a prompt, dependable, and efficient postal service to the citizens nevertheless where they live (Powers,2012) The visions or the focus of the organizations are: Delivering values and experiences to the customers and ensuring that smart decisions about the relevant information. Equipping, engaging, and empowering employees to do their best to meet the needs of the customers.

Investing more in the postal platform which includes the domestic, international, retail and digital market, which will deliver an excellent, universal, and a secure service to the customers and the communities. The Short term goal of the company is to reduce the volume of the First-Class Mail as well as few reductions in the Standard A Mail volume. According toSchmutz and Yorsz (2017),if the impact of technology and the competition is more, it can have a financial advantage from the government. The long term goals of the company are like to implement new technologies and transport services so that it can beat its competitor companies which are ahead the track The revenue growth has enabled the company to shift from a focus of radically cutting down the fixed cost and stabilizing the core revenues, growing liquidity and increasing investments in future platforms.
