Summary of Sydney opera house environmental policy of sustainability
In case of Sydney opera house policy statement of environmental sustainability, the
proposed mission is to concentrate higher provided that numerous green environmental for the
upcoming generations of all the visitors, audiences and artist. Besides it, the businesses also
promotes art encouragement as well as inspiration in order to centralize the identity and life of
Australia. For achieving a green environment as it was planned, numerous facilities has been
developed and planned. As one of the instance is the system of air-cooling of seawater that has
reduced the emission through green house. As a result, all these changes are to be made for the
public as one of the main stakeholder as eight millions of people per year has been attracted to this
particular building.
In contrast, several restaurants, bars of theatre and couple of retail stores abide by also with

commitment of environmental sustainability of Australia. Ultimately, the mentioned policy has the
overall purpose to have all the contribution and responsibilities for the conservation of the natural
resources.

 As a result, all these actions and implementations should be done in a particular time
manner with deputized employees. All these commitments are done for the sake of
improvement on the performance of the environment so far.

Review on audience feedback:
Questionnaires of feedback that is distributive which includes various questions and
feedback of the audiences is very significant. According to the review of the audience, the training
process which contributes in sustainability. As per the audience review, in the manager and the staff
of opera house answerable towards their own job that helps in the process of sustainability.
Stubbornly, process of training in the opera house was conducted by the HR manager of it
contributes in an extent way for improvising unique field of the opera house. As per the review of

the audience, opera house policies will bring back the influence in the sustainability of the
environment.
To determine the success of the plan of commutation and the key performance that is indicated
are as follows: -
 Reduce use of energy
 Embed sustainability of environment
 Inspire and engagement
 Keep precise
Review of the efficient targets of the resources and its related
actions:
According to the annual report of the opera house, various systems of energy management
are being developed for enhancing the consumption and practices of the environment. All these
includes in replacing of mature lightning will never ever efficient system of lightning. Besides that,
complain of the greening of houses is also launched. The reduction in the cost of energy is the
possible outcome of it and it leads to the need for more capital for carrying out other investments
within the environment. In the meantime, all the staffs are educated and being trained through the
new network of the internet. It is better for the time being that employees of the SOH could have
performed the process of sustainability, moreover, new activities of sustainability of the
environment is improved, as well as turn off the lights for getting an extra hours per light that will
bring some limit in the carbon emission and reduced the cost economically. Then, the biodiesel
generators uses will lead to the major downfall in the consumption of the energy on light or any
other devices that uses electricity. It is good now that SOH employees could perform sustainability,
additionally, new environmental sustainability activity is enhanced, and turning off the light for an
extra hour per light will limit the carbon emission as well as reduce the cost financially. then, the use
of biodiesel generators lead to the significant decrease in energy consume on light or other
electrical devices, since the SOH comprising of art centres, theatres, restaurants and outlets: it
inessential that the resources usage must be minimized at the outcome of sustainability. In term of
health and safety, the injury is possibly reduced due to the new installed beams to their original
condition. Risk system is also developed and Followed by staff. The results are to improve
identification& monitoring and management of potential safety hazards across high rise areas of the
sites. However, there are also shortfalls for the implementation process. The timelines are
insufficient since some of the implementation such as replacing air condition system is delayed.
Whereas, the outcome of new energy efficient is good but it is not fully upgraded by the time of
management review. Then though the temporary result increases the effectiveness of energy
consumption, the upgrading process could impact the performance of business with SOH such as
sudden electricity loss or the inconvenience of audiences or consumers.
5. ANSWER
A) Ans: - According trend of electricity to the figure resources uses has been decreased significantly.
It could be due to different new implementations such as new printing services, use of biodiesel or
the launch of the internal 'greening the House campaign. This is only true for the performance, SOH
only. The offsite leases results in higher usage of electricity.
B) Ans: - It is very crucial in order to develop an audit procedure to measure and access insufficient
areas for further actions taken. These areas are usages of gas, the offsite usage of the electricity, the
system of waste as well as broadening the policy of sustainability for the usages of gas: checking the

use of individual outlets, restaurants and SOH checking the process of newly installed air
conditioning report to the manager if the action must be taken, the audit must inform the outlet
owners to comply with the new developed plan or policy of gas usage for offsite electricity usages,
checking the lighting system of the offsite area for the newly installed lighting system checking the
use of electrical devices report to manager and penalty for the outlets who are not complied with
the policies for waste system, continue with two waste audits checking the waste system within SOH
and offsite report to manager recheck the situation monthly after the new system or strategies are
applied for broadening the sustainability, the regular feedbacks are used to assess and analyse
different opinions for sustainability. Then, the plan must develop to cope with these changes.
C) Ans: - In the plan of development that is provided, there are few needs to recover for the plan of
sustainability of SOH. The above mentioned plan involves several areas of the performance of
sustainability are as follows: -
a) Usage of gas- high annual gas usage is result of old air conditioning system which is gas
based system and kitchen also consumers gas a lot. In result of these new gas policies must
made to review the original one which will leads to save energy and gas usage.
b) Offsite electricity- offsite electric can be used for entire SOH, the positive figures has shown
the current policy id sufficient to conserve the energy. However to be more efficient,
different development could be used such as upgrading all offsite lighting system .Applying
strategic of turning off lights for four hour is another way to reduce electricity use for offsite
lease.
c) System of waste- The new development strategies must be applied as soon as possible and
the audits must check frequently. The strategy will include a new three bin separation
system for pepper-comingled-landfill to improve recycling of building maintenance materials
and trial systems for managing organic food waste from kitchen within SOH precinct.
d) Widening of sustainability-In community and with stakeholders. Audit must be finished
different assessment about how public could participate in the current sustainability plan.
Then the organization must be analyse the result to develop better plan for corporate with
community and stakeholders.

In terms of reviewing of management, Sydney opera house, Millen Dorsey of the process of

This all came to the conclusion that the firm only got success internally but engagement of the
partners or co-operator with the community has not passed. This means in the coming year, the
implementation of the plan has also initiated by SOH in order to broader the practices of
sustainability with the other organisations and stakeholders engagement for engaging in the
practices of the sustainability. At the end, SOH was concentrating in the work for improving recycling
and wastage management. Information of audit has also been used for reviewing recent practices as
well as to develop and improve the strategies of waste and recycling management in order to
improve recycling of waste that will be executed in the upcoming year. These strategies will
comprise of three system of bin separation.

 Enhanced recycling of maintenance materials of the buildings
 System of trails in order to manage organic waste of food from the kitchen with the
prescient of SOH.
