INTRODUCTION
The term business function is being used to determine and represent various departments
in the organization with whose collaborative efforts a company is able to achieve their objective.
The different business functions includes human resource, finance, marketing, production and
various others (Alcorn, 2021). The present report talks about such departments of an
organization along with its importance with context to Sainsbury.
MAIN BODY
Different business functions
Business functions for a company are those who performs various essential activities of a
company and whose existence is necessary for the business success. The different functions that
are operating in Sainsbury are mentioned below:
Human Resource: The department of human resource focuses upon recruiting and hiring
different candidates within an organization along with training, developing and providing
enough remuneration to them. In context to Sainsbury the HR department is responsible
for selecting best talent and training with higher skills. The HR department is most
crucial department of any organisation as the performance of workforce and their success
depends upon the selection of candidates for the business.
Finance: The finance department in a company arranges, manages, allocates and invests
funds according to the need in different sections. The department also attract investors
and prepares company’s financial statements. They allocates required funds to the
business functions so that they can perform their work effectively (AlNaaji and Qusef,
2021). In context to Sainsbury the department of finance keeps a record of every
monetary transaction and invites investors to invest in company’s projects.
Marketing: The function of marketing is to plan different promotional activities along
with a publication of company’s products and services in a form of advertisement. They
are also responsible for enhancing company’s brand image and their sales. In context to
Sainsbury the department of marketing plans and implements different marketing strategy
and increases company’s sales.
