INTRODUCTION
It is critical that citizens of Australia should be provided with individual rights and
protection. Currently Bill of rights has not been passed in country and constitution provides vary
limited human rights to people that are living in the nation. Present discussions describes about
importance of Bill of rights for Australia. Critical analysis has been present about should
Australians have Bill of rights.
TASK
Individual rights have been granted by government of Australia by making provisions in
other legislation. Person's rights have been granted but there are some challenges that are
associated with it. These rights that have been given by the constitution can be removed easily
and taken back without facing much difficulty (Cope and Phillips, 2014). Individuals have little
right to oppose for that and due to this it becomes essential that separate bill of rights should be
provided to citizens of nation. Passing Bill of rights will support for ensuring that rights of
people should remain firmly in place (Stone, Goldsworthy and Campbell, 2013). There are many
benefits that can be reaped through Bill of rights and it includes providing better accountability
for ensuring fairness to the individuals. Through Bill of right it will be easy to ensure that a
conviction is not necessary for bringing about a challenge.
Currently country is lacking strong protections for people's right and it is vital that Bill of
Rights should be passed so that opportunity should be provided to people to fight for their rights.
Individuals will become capable for fighting against unjust law and corruption will also reduce if
these rights would be passed (Brake, Bell and Finkelstein, 2016). In Australia different manners
are used for protecting the human rights and there is no provision for Protecting Human rights in
a single documents. Constitution of Australia provides some basic individual right and common
law of nation also grants some basic individual rights. However there are some arguments
against Bill of rights (Carruthers, 2013).
Passing Bill of rights will create limitation for passage of laws through parliament. Along
with this if this Bill will be passed than it would politicize the court. Judicial imperialism will be
a major disadvantage that will occur due to passing of Bill of Rights. Some specific laws will be

enacted through this and it will create challenges foe enacting different legislation. New
problems will be generated and it is a difficult and complicated task to have a single document
for Bill of rights. Some issues of basic rights will be created and challenges will be faced in
protecting the rights of individuals that are living in nation.
CONCLUSION
Concluding the above discussion it can be evaluated that there are many long term and
short term objectives can be achieved through this. Passing Bill of right will support for
protecting the rights of individuals and more safe and protective environment can be provided to
people living in the country. Australian's should have Bill of right so that strong and effective
protection can be provided to individuals that are living in the nation.
