This report helps in understanding about importance of motivation in employees within
an organization. Motivation is explained as the process which help employees of organization in
initiating, guiding and focusing on achieving desired goals and objectives. It also involves
various elements that contributes in boosting morale of employees and motivates them to work
towards growth and development of organization. This report also helps in understanding about
elements which plays vital role in motivating employees and how does it help organization in
achieving its goals and objectives. This report also focuses on importance of motivation for an
individual and importance for its own growth and development.

Motivation and factors that influence motivation
Motivation helps in understanding about purpose of an individual behind performing any
task and it describes why a individual does something. Motivation isn't about referring to factors
that influence behaviour of individual but also focuses upon elements which can help individual
in achieving desired goals and objectives. Motivation is also considered as major factor in
management of employees within an organization. Motivation is important for an individual to
satisfy their own needs and achieve their own personal as well as professional goals. Motivation
has its own process which is differentiated into three different stages which are mentioned
below:
Need
Motivation of every individual derives from its own needs and expectations. If employees
of organization have no needs then employees cannot be motivated. In order to complete their
own needs employees need motivation which comes from either money, recognition etc. During
motivation process it is important for employees to understand need for expectations. In order to
keep employees motivated managers focuses on fulfilling needs of employees and ensure that
employees should be focused towards their work.
Drive
Expectations helps employees in understanding their needs and it helps in boosting their
morale and working towards their goals. Without action employees cannot satisfy their needs and
drive can help employees in satisfying their own needs by putting efforts.

It is considered as the last stage in process of motivation because employees focuses on
getting attractive compensation for their efforts and it helps organization in motivating their
employees. Employees can also be motivated when organization focuses on development of their

managers to inspire their employees to work towards goals and objectives of organization.
Motivation is considered as important part of performance as motivated employees are likely to
achieve their goals and deliver high performance. There are various factors which can help in

Motivated employees will focus on working towards organization growth and
development which could lead towards cooperation among employees of organization. Positive
collaboration and cooperation among employees help organization in boosting its productivity
and profitability. It could help organization in achieving its goals and objectives. Employees
cooperation also lead to creating high performance environment and taking organization to new

high morale are considered as asset to organization. Motivated employees can help organization

also helpful in retaining employees of organization. If employees are not rewarded and
recognized for their good work then it might affect their confidence and it might result in
organization loosing their skilled employees. Reward and recognition not only motivates
employees but it also helps in retaining their skilled and talented employees. There are various
ways to reward employees and these rewards can be possible in terms of cost or either can be in
terms of trips, vouchers etc. The focus on rewarding employees is to motivate them and to ensure
that employees should focus on delivering effective results for benefit of organization.

development opportunities as well as incentives. Development of employees could help in
developing their skill as well as knowledge. Employee development can make them self-

and objectives. Organization focuses on providing training and development programmes for
their employees which can make them effective and in exchange organization demands loyalty
and performance from their employees. Employees are motivated when organization focuses on
their development which can help employees in achieving their personal as well as professional
goals. Development encourage employees to work harder for organization goals.
Leadership – Effective leadership within organization also helps in motivating employees.
Motivated leaders focuses on motivating their employees by leading them towards right path
and helps employees in understanding about desired goals and objectives. A good leader always
know how to motivate its team and helps their team members to perform at high level. It is
important for good leader to provide rewards to its team members according to their
performance.
Work life balance – Providing a good work life balance contributes in development of
employees. Employees which have good work life balance are more likely to stay motivated and
considered loyal to organization. If there is not healthy work life balance then employees would
feel less motivated and it also affect their overall development. As a manager, it is important to
ensure that employees should maintain healthy work life balance which can help in their
development. It would also help in keeping them motivated and working effectively towards
organization goals and objectives.
Work environment – Employees development is only possible in positive work environment. It
focuses on physical as well as non-physical environment – space in office is considered as
physical environment. Studies shows that employees work effectively in open spaces and it helps
them in generating new ideas and thought which can help organization in achieving its goals and
objectives. Motivated employees focuses on collaboration and communication in organization.
Communication within organization is only possible through engagement and open environment
of organization can help in growth and development of employees. Motivation is important to
