This article discusses the importance of teamwork in organizations, team dynamics, and strategies to overcome conflicts within teams. It highlights the stages of team formation, the role of team leaders in energizing and motivating team members, and the challenges that may arise in teams. Teamwork
One of the efficient ways in which organizations ensure there is cooperation in their works is
through teamwork. A team is formed taking into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of every
member. It entails understanding the team dynamics and addressing the shortcomings of each dynamics.
As Truckman proposed, team cannot be formed spontaneously. Team formation entails a series of steps
such as forming, storming, norming and performing (Yeomans, 2016). In forming and storming stage,
the resistance from team members is high and it is upon the team leader to identify the causes of conflict
and solve them.
Success or failure of any team depends on how the team members are energized and motivated.
Team leader can energize the team through many ways. The first way is trust. Leaders who propose
challenges to their team, who are interested and apply many of their ideas, will be encouraging the growth
of each employee. Another way is to assign the right tasks to the right people. Each one is defined by a
certain profile. The multidisciplinary teams, fortunately, are able to carry out varied activities as
efficiently as possible (Anyanwu, 2009).Communication is also an energizing tool. The team leaders must
bear in mind the atrocious isolation in which all employees can feel, more if they work at a distance.
Therefore, we must know how to flee from it thanks to a constant and adequate communication. Right on.
Also, everyone has to know what their responsibilities are. And, ultimately, communication is the basis of
effective self-management (Anyanwu, 2009).
It is not guaranteed that the team members agree on everything that is being discussed. There are
situations that may cause members to develop some hitches among themselves. According to Lencioni
(n.d), one of the major reasons that results in groups dysfunction is the absence of trust among team
members. This challenge tends to cripple the spirit of the team. Additionally, lack of commitment may as
well cause problems to the team. This may be because so members may be unwilling to cooperate.

TEAMWORK 3
It is the responsibility of any team leader to ensure that these problems are overcome. One of the
best strategies to be used is by ensuring that there is a common ground for rebuilding unity. This is done
by allowing each member to be heard and his or her reason analyzed separately (Bunashe &Lindsay,
2015). Groups should also ensure that members are assigned duties basing on their area of specialization.
This will help to restore commitment among members.
It is evident that teamwork can lead to achievement of various milestones in any organization. To
achieve this, the organization should ensure they build teams that are easy to manage. They should also
give team members responsibility to choose leaders of their choice. This will help in building trust among
members.
