For the global leaders it is important for them to communicate properly and efficiently in
order to execute their strategy for the betterment of the organization. By using the
secondary research it has been noted that poor communication in an organization or the
workplaces have detrimental effect on the performance of an organization. The key skills also
have been identified using the secondary research in order to improve the communication in
anorganization. This memo discusses about the key skills that are required by the leaders in an
workplace or organization and the memo also discusses the various communication models that
ensures improved communication , which are essential for the betterment of performance in the
workplace .
The key skills required by the leaders in order to improve the communication in workplace
The management leaders require possessing key skills for efficient communication in the
workplace. In the article, Argenti (2017) , the author details the way in which the high level
executives make use of the corporate communication for the execution of strategy (Argenti
2017) .This article states that the leaders are using communication for the execution of strategy
in the following ways :
By “having a clearly articulated strategy that gets repeated broadly and consistently

strategy of the organization .Thus , the strategy needs to be clear and consistent to
promote understanding .
Strategy needs to be clear and consistent - It is important to create a culture for
execution of strategy. It was also identified that the internal communication plays a major
role in shaping and developing culture.
Presence of leaders - It is importantthat the leaders of an organization is present and
personally deliver the messages to the employees for executing strategy through
communication.It has been proved that leaders are most effective when they are
responsible for both the employees and production of the organization (Ayub, Manaf and
Hamzah 2014).
Conceptual frameworks to enhance communication of the leaders
It is important to develop conceptual frameworks in order to communicate efficiently with the
stakeholders of the company. In the article, Mayfield, Mayfield and Sharbrough III (2015), the
authors discusses about development of conceptual framework for scrutinizing and enhancing
communications of the leaders to internalandexternal stakeholders by making use of motivating
language theory or MLT (Mayfield, Mayfield and Sharbrough 2015). The key points that have
been identified from the research are as follows:
