In your own words, answer the following questions on the following template.
1. Describe how you would maintain the dignity and privacy of a child who
has had a toileting accident. Use

Educators take an essential role towards supporting, nurturing and the
promotion of the social skills and the relationship of the children. In the
context of the child having toileting accident, the dignity and the privacy of
the child needs to be maintained by the educator by building an equitable
and sensitive relationship.

2. Describe how you would you promote sun safety, such as following
policies, regulations and the UV Index. Approximately 50-100 words.
The aim is towards the creation of the environment and encourage the
behaviour for the minimization of the risk towards skin cancer. Some of the
basic measures for planning the safety from the sun includes ensuring
follows the policy and the procedures for the promotion of the practices
related sun safe with the consultation with staffs, students and parents.
3. A child in the preschool room often arrives in a dress with no sleeves and
slip-on shoes during summer.
Your room leader has asked you to talk with the family about the health
and safety concerns (e.g. sunburn). How would you respect the individual
clothing needs and preferences of this child and her family, while following
the requirements of the National Laws and Regulations? Approximately 50-
100 words.
Being an educator it has been important for me to take a note of the safety
and the health of the child. This is because the lack of sleeves in his clothes
and no sip on shoes during the summer is a tremendous threat for the child
towards sunburn in summer time. I do respect the preferences and the
choices of the family but I need to talk with the family of the child to warn
them regarding the health issues of the child that might follow.
4. Explain why it is important for children to participate in experiences with
a balance of natural and artificial lighting and why access to well
ventilated areas and fresh air is beneficial to children’s health.

Good and efficient lighting is very much vital towards good health. It is
essential for the children towards the participation regarding the
experiences with the balance among the artificial and the natural light.
Exposure to the natural light and having some of the good quality of the
lights are necessary for good health. Furthermore for the children it is
important to get access to well ventilated areas and the fresh since daily
amount of the sunlight is necessary for the production of vitamin D and the
necessities of good health.

5. Arrival time can be stressful for children and their families.
List four (4) signs of stress/distress a child may display on arrival at
the service.
1. Increase in the tantrums and crying
2. Coughs, movement of the body and anxious tics
3. Unusual behaviour and clinging to a parent
4. A rushed entry or exit from the service place.
