Eitheras mentioned in the information of near miss incident at the Naja Group of Colleges’work area, plumber or electricians working in the workplace should inform theauthority. Reporting about a near miss is everyone’s responsibility at the workplace,which includes managers, workers and supervisors as well. All employees must becareful at the workplaces and must also encourage reporting a near miss sinceindividuals go to work with the thought of returning home injury free (Chan-Mok,Caponecchia & Winder, 2014). Inspecting the workplace before going home isnecessary since there is a probability of risk. Any unsafe condition should be reportedto the supervisor. Reporting the supervisor is essential because informing thehazardous conditions will avoid someone from getting hurt. If the workplace is notkept clean and organized, supervisor should be informed. This is because unhealthywork situations might affect the health conditions of the employees. Electrical cordsor open taps must be checked and should not be kept opened at workplace. Trippingon an electrical cord will cause serious injury to anyone. Therefore, being attentiveand informing the higher authority on near misses is important. Measures taken to reduce the occurrence of such incidents - Several safetymeasures can be implemented to reduce the cause of incident so that it does not occuragain (Sousa, Almeida & Dias, 2014). After work, the supervisor or any higherauthority should check if any harmful tools are, lying around that can injure a person.Near miss incidents can be controlled by forming a control plan of workplace hazards.The employer must detect the hazards if he is aware of it and should inform the higher

Equipments and tools should be maintained properly and mustbe safe to use. Proper training should be given to the employees so that they do notrepeat careless mistakes that will lead to injury among the individuals working. Safetywork procedures should be checked to ensure their own safety. Supervising theemployees to perform their tasks without causing any damage or hurting someone isalso important. If an incident does not result in a serious injury, it must be conductedand investigated. The root cause of the incident should be established. The safetymeasure should be followed so that these incidents are not repeated (Zohar &Polachek, 2014). Records of training activities, inspections and incident investigationsmust be maintained. The information helps to know the pattern and identify the trendsof in unsafe conditions. To be injury free, every organization must have a successfulbusiness as a customer service, financial planning and inventory control. Theorganization itself must establish safety requirements. Participating in safetyworkplace training is essential and working together leads to developing emergencyprocedures and plans. However, if these measures are followed and maintained nearmiss incidents will not occur again. Communication and Consultation - If any near miss incidents occur in anorganization, the supervisor or any higher authority should be communicated with.One must report the problems with the supervisor since the authority is the head thattakes all the decision and can solve the issues. As mentioned in this case, the plumbertripped over an electrical cord that one of the electricians had extended and he forgotto remove it. In such cases, the plumber needs to go up to the authority of theorganization and inform them about the situation. The plumber will inform thesupervisor so that near misses do not keep re-occurring needlessly. It is the duty of
