1INDIGENOUS CULTURE
Racism has been one of the widely ranged factors for the development of indigenous
people in Australia and other countries. The colonization in Australia by British led the y
foundation for white women to get ultimate privileges within the country (Moreton-Robinson
2000). In the Australian society, all the white women were preferred for getting facilities and
privileges. The indigenous women in the society had to go through tremendous racial
oppressions throughout their lives. This racial oppression was also carried on through women in
the society. It has been seen over the years that many white women in Australian society have
demonstrated their actions in a good manner but those indigenous women have not taken these
behaviors in proper manner since their belief was white women would always be scornful
towards them (Moreton-Robinson 2000). My opinion in this context is colonization’s effect
made this situation possible. I have found through my studies that indigenous women in
Australian society had to resist all tortures thrown upon them. I believe that inter-subjective
relations had to be measured to make betterments in this scenario (Moreton-Robinson 2000). I
also think this has been one of the most debatable subjects in the studies related to oppression. I
have developed the idea where white women activists have not been that much interested in
documenting their inter-subjective relations with the indigenous women in Australia.
In this section, I will discuss about the facts that are very crucial to determine the reasons
for addressing racism in the context of Australian society (Donald and Rattansi 1992). The
colonial effects of British dominance can be one of the reasons as to why black women in the
society have been dominated. The effects of multiculturalism are huge in this scenario between
black and white women as I have found. I believe that the time has come to focus on antiracism
and multiculturalism so the evils of racism can be eradicated from society forever. It is duly
important since political and pedagogic implications will have to be determined in giving black

women their real privileges and facilities within the constraints of society (Donald and Rattansi
1992). I think education and pedagogy is one of the topics in which antiracism will have to be
implemented. Multiculturalism should also be a regular factor here as black children in society
are very often deprived of educational and health facilities. Therefore, some steps will have to
taken so these issues can be confronted. British education system in the society have felt large
scale implications of these practices and strategies fixed by states should be re-defined for better
outcomes in support of those black children. In some books and studies, I have found the idea
subtle differences between multiculturalism and antiracism should be assessed properly so that
all privileges can be achieved those children of black skin (Donald and Rattansi 1992).
Therefore, my opinion is racism has been developed into a huge issue in recent times and it
should be combated before children feel repercussions of this scenario. Apart from that, I think
state-strategies should also be developed to undermine the problems that children face and make
some positive recommendation strategies that will focus on making betterments in the situation.
It is a matter of huge problem that racism still exists in the society and it has impacted on
health and well being of many people within. One of the biggest matters in this context is the
sexual abuse of children that has led to mass problems. The implications racial abuse on children
and engaging in their sexual abuse is a punishable offence indeed (Yindi, 2010). Therefore, some
state-led strategies have not been helpful for children and their families in the society. I assume
some government officials might be lured to take away the lands of those black skinned people.
The intervention of NT is a must to carry out the strategies to mitigate this problem of racism
permanently. This strategy of intervention in Northern Territory will deal with several factors
like law enforcements, encroachment of lands by white people, rampant sexual abuse on children
and not giving enough facilities and privileges to aboriginal people of Northern Territories. This

emergency response was carried out by 600 soldiers so this Operation Ouutreach could be made
successful. The enforcements of legislation was thus conducted by Northern Territory National
Emergency Response Bill in 2007 (Yindi, 2010). Therefore, I believe it has been one of the most
critical factors in the lives of those people belonging to aboriginal communities. I think racism
should be stopped on the basis of providing people of aboriginal communities’ better
opportunities for healthcare and education.
