INTRODUCTION
Identification of skills and abilities which needs to be improved is very important task to
person for improving its overall performance and productivity at any place. This report includes
skills audit which has created for the purpose of identifying skills and abilities which are fully
developed and skills which needs to be improved (Carter and Varney, 2018). Then, some
objectives also have been created below in this report for the improvement of un-developed or
weak skills and abilities. An effective action plan has been created below for the purpose of
developing and improving various skills. At the end, a spreadsheet has been included in this
report for data and analysis.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
Skills Audit
Skills audit is very important task to a person or learners for knowing about its existing
skills and abilities. Currently there are different models and tools simply available in the market
place which can be used for the auditing different skills and abilities. In this modern world,
millions of people conduct skills auditing task for the clear identification of abilities which has
fully developed and abilities which still needs to be developed. The SWOT analytical tool is one
of the most important tools which can be used for auditing different skills. This SWOT term
generally show four key internal factors of a business or individual, called; strengths,
weaknesses, threats and opportunities (Higgs and Dulewicz, 2016). In this situation, I have to
adopt this tool to audit own skills, and with the support of this tool I will be able to know which
skills I have to improved and developed.
Strengths Currently I have well developed skills of decision-making, people
management and technical skills, and this is why this all well-developed
skills are strength to me, and without these I cannot gain better outcomes in
the market place. The decision-making skills helps me for taking a very

productive decision at any place, and then team work skills help me for
working in a team work with enthusiasm, and lastly, technical skills
contribute in using different technological gadgets and tools in daily
operations.
Weaknesses My communication skills, time management abilities and problem-solving
abilities are not good enough, and that is why these weak skills are major
weaknesses to me. Basically, due to having poor communication skills,
currently I am not able to properly interact with different people, and due to
weak problem solving I cannot easily solve any problem (Jackson, 2018).
Lastly, I am not able to manage my precious time properly because of lack
of time management skills, so I have to take an effective action towards
developing these poor or weak skills.
Opportunities I have an opportunity to develop all my weak skills and abilities with the
support of an effective action plan. It means I have to make an action plan
for developing or improving various weak skills and abilities. On the other
side, after improving own different skills, I will have opportunity to
develop own personality and professionalism.
Threats There is competition within each sector is increasing regularly, and this is
the main threat to me, because currently I don’t have enough skills and
abilities to deal with deal with this competition.

On the basis of above skills ranking scale, I have to take quick actions towards
developing skills, like; communication, problem-solving, time management. Currently I have to
improve these all three skills for gaining better outcomes in the university course (Lin and
Sanders, 2017). After having proper skills of communication, will be able to interact with anyone
in very proper manner. Time management skills will give me chance to manage own time in very
proper manner. Lastly, when I will be succeeded in improving own skills of problem-solving,
then I can simply resolve different problems and challenges under the university course.
TASK 2
SMART Objectives
For improving own poor or weak skills and abilities, I have to use the concept of SMART
objectives for setting some specific objectives for the improvement of different skills. Basically,
smart objectives are similar as other objectives, but they give a proper framework to a person for
achieving different objectives. SMART term generally refers five areas of objectives, called;
specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time oriented. In this situation, I have to consider
these all five areas while formulating own objectives relating to skills improvement (Kneale,
2019). There are four major smart objectives has been mentioned below;
To improve different skills by making an effective action plan.
To develop own personality and professionalism by using own well-developed skills.
For organising required resources in the operation of skills development.

To gain better outcomes in the university course with the support of own skills and
abilities.
Action Plan
I have to a very effective as well as productive action plan for developing own all three
poor skills, named; communication, time management and problem-solving. Basically, an
effective action plan always informs different people about how to improve and develop own
skills which are currently ineffective or undeveloped. In this situation, a very productive action
plan to me has been created below;

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that identification of own skills is very important to a person, and
skills auditing helps people for ensuring which skills are currently developed and which skills
still needs to be developed. In this dynamic and modern world, most people or learners believes
in doing skills audit, because when a person conducts the task of skills audit, then it will be able
to ensure that which skills are currently developed and which skills needs to be more improved
or developed. It can be also concluded that an effective action plan always plays an excellent role
to a person for developing its different poor or weak skills and abilities.
