INTRODUCTION Goals or objectives plays very important role for a student as it assist them in order to accomplish their future task. Academic goals refers to the objective which is associated with educational success(Schleussner and et. al., 2016). Short term goals are something which can easily be accomplished in a near future whereas long term goals requires more time and planning. In the present report, importance of setting goals and objectives are going to be discussed along with some methods so that learning skills will be improved of a student in an effective and appropriate manner. MAIN BODY Discuss the importance of setting goals. Some important short term as well as long term goals for the students. Setting goals for a student is quite essential part as clear goals is very important to attain desired results. Academic goals considered as an essential performance targets which will assist the student in order to forward their educational progression. It is said that setting academic goals aid students in attaining and achieving goals and objectives throughout their academic careers. It has also been analysed that academic goals assist a student in getting clear picture about what they want to attain in their near future(Munshi and et. al., 2016.). With the help of developing goals, it is said that students become more motivated and encouraged in order to accomplish their goals and objectives in an effective manner. There are generally two main types of academic goals which are short term as well as long term goals. In context of short term goals, it has been said that such goals can effectively be completed or accomplished by a student within a short period of time duration. These are the goals with the help of which a university student will be able to accomplish their short term goals and objectives in an effective manner. For instance, a university student decides to complete an assignment and gain higher grades within a week. For this, student is required to develop some strategies so that they can attain their short term goals in an effective manner. One of the most positive effect of attaining short term goals on a student is that they become more encouraged and motivated which leads towards to attain long term goals(Steca and et. al., 2016). On the other hand, long term goals refers to those which needs to be accomplished or attained by a student at the end of semester or before graduation. It has also been analysed that
long term goals are generally based on performance. Apart from this, SMART objective is developed by students so that they can attain long term as well as short terms goals in an effective manner. With the aid of developing long & short term goals, students will be able to generate various benefits so that they can improve their knowledge and learning for a longer duration of time period(Kriegler and et. al., 2018). Some methods with the help of which student can improve how they can remember new information for a long period of time. Human minds are one of the most innovative sources of all time . It can be truly said that minds of humans are cognitive in nature. When it comes to students , at their age minds are confusing and at developing stage. Information is of different attributes. It depends on individual how he/she remember all those things. Each student has different ways of storing information because everyone have unique characteristics. Also it is very common to forget information when it is new and in learning process(Collie and et. al., 2016). Students minds took time to grab something and store information in their memory. Memory is of two type long term as well as short term memory which is used by students. When student is in learning process it is casual to forgot what is being learnt. Another important thing while feeding information in minds of the student is their perception. Synapse, a bridge between neuron and muscles cells which helps to store a information in brain for longer period of time. If synapse is strengthened, longer the information will be stored. So, basically there are various methods used by students to store the information in brain. Some of the most essential method which is mainly adopted by students are going to be discussed as follows:Brainstorming and Group learning:Brainstorming refers to sharing of ideas in a group and listening each idea carefully. This process helps in thought process as well as student become more active. Group learning is the best way to recall things. It is often seen that student recall and storeinformation in the brain for longer period of time when this strategy is used. Both brainstorming and group learning are longer process but are mostly used by everyone. Cues:Another most effective long last strategy is cue. Cues refers to remembering things in form of some particular words , examples, songs, videos etc. The most easy and best solution for the students. This helps for long last because student easily recall things which they they regularly see or use(del Mar Ferradásand et. al., 2016). So,
