communication process. Listening is very important part of communication as it supports in

properly understanding what teacher is teaching. Listening capability of a student will lead to

INTRODUCTION
Listening can be describe as the skill or ability of an individual through which they are able
to accurately receive and interpret the message in the communication process. Lack of listening
capabilities will lead to have negative impact over effective communication along with this it
will increase misunderstanding or other issues (Yurko and Styfanyshyn, 2020). Through
effective and good listening information can be shared correctly without any break down. This

the meaning of message. Students have to attend regular lectures on Zoom as well as need to
learn various new information in order to attain desired academic goals. For accomplishing set
objectives students should have listening ability. This will help in clearly understanding lectures
and enhance communication practices (Bourdeaud’Hui, Aesaert and van Braak, 2020).
Listening is refer as the ability to comprehend verbally communicated information and providing
appropriate feedback. This is crucial skills which is important in order to pay attention to sound
and understand meaning of message. Students needs to understand the instruction of teacher with
the motive of excel in exam. It is essential that student is focusing on developing or increasing
listening abilities. It will lead to have major impact on overall performance of the student as well
as assist in attaining desired goals and objective. Different strategies are mention below that will
help student in improving listening ability such as –
 Face speaker and maintain eye contact – It is crucial for a listener to face speaker and
maintaining proper eye contact so that student can understand the message teacher is

speaking. It is hard to converse with somebody who is continually looking around and
not focusing on speaker. Student should try to confront the speaker as well as keep in
touch, and give them your full focus. Eye to eye connection is essential for enhancing

 Keep an open mind – Student needs to keep an open mind so that they can gather more
information and understand the meaning of message. It is essential that student not just
act like they are interested in communication or listening to lecture that is taught by
teacher (Tanaka and et.al., 2020). Numerous individuals are simply standing by to add,
change the subject to themselves or air their perspectives, and this is clear to other
people. It is important that listener is not only judge or mentally criticize the speaker but
focusing on understanding the message speaker is trying to tell. This will assist in
improving listening capabilities of a person.
 Active listening – This is the strategy through which student is able to show that they are
interested in communication or correctly listening to what teacher is speaking. Active
listening is very crucial and important as it will lead to have significant impact on overall
flow of communication. There are different ways and techniques of active listening such
as non verbal cues that includes nodding, making eye contact and so on. Student should
use verbal affirmation for example “I understand”, “ I Know” and various others. This
technique will help in improving active listening ability of person.
 Pay attention – This can be consider as one of the significant and essential strategy that
should consider by student in order to improve listening capability. With a lot of
communication being non-verbal, it is significant that student absorb however much data
as could be expected while likewise indicating them truly that individual are partaking
they would say. Student needs to pay attention to what teacher is communication and
should be mentally present in the class (Khoiriyah, 2020). By paying more attention and
focusing student is able to concentrate on listening and it will assist in properly
understanding the message.

this will help them in understanding the information and interpretation the data that is

technology with the motive of increasing teaching practices as well as help student in
learning There are currently a lot of tremendous innovative technology to help make
teacher in instructing all the more creative and innovative manner. Teacher needs to use
more new and innovative technology or electronic substance the board framework like
Moodle or Blackboard where teacher can share materials and set up conversations or
discussion topic for class group. This is effective and efficient in order to carry out
practices of teaching in more creative and better manner.
 Develop positive and friendly environment – Teacher needs to develop positive and
friendly environment so that student can focus on lecture. This will assist in successfully
making student understand the lecture as well as increasing their understanding about the
topic. It is recommended to teacher is creating positive or friendly environment as this
will help in developing better relationship with students.
