INTRODUCTIONThe below report identifies the importance of literature review. It explains what is aliterature reviews and for what it is used while writing a report. Also, it explores the importanceof corporate social responsibility (Baik, Farber and Lee, 2016). The report explains theimportance of corporate social responsibility and explores why CSR is important in today'sworld in order to ensure growth and sustainability within an organisational environment.MAIN BODYLiterature ReviewLiterature reviews or narrative review refers to a narrative article. It is a scholarly paperwhich involves the present knowledge and includes substantive findings. A literature reviewalong with these aspects also includes methodological and theoretical contributions to aparticular topic. The reviews done in literature are based on the secondary sources instead theprimary ones and they do not report original or experimental work.The literature reviews are a basis of research in nearly every academic field. A narrowscope review of literature might be included as part of journal article presenting new research. Itis presented in order to serve and situate the current study within the body of relevant literatureand in order to provide a context to a reader. In such case, the review often precedes the resultsections and methodology of the work.The main types of literature reviews include Narrative, systematic, argumentative andintegrative. The narrative literature review tends to critique the literature and summarizes thebody of the literature. It also draws conclusions about the topic and tends to identify the gaps andinconsistencies in a body of knowledge.The review which is termed as systematic requires more well-defined and rigorousapproach as compared to other types of reviews of literature. It is often divided into twocategories, meta-synthesis and meta-analysis (Crane, Matten and Spence, 2019).The literature review which is argumentative examines literature selectively whichsupports and refutes a philosophical problem, an argument and deeply embedded assumption thatis already established in the literature.The integrative literature review synthesizes critiques and reviews secondary data in thetopic of research.
