1INDIVIDUAL PORTFOLIO REFLECTION Executive Summary The study is a reflection on an entrepreneurial audit that was done by a group for the non-profit organizationnamed Greenhouse sports organization.I have given my personal reflection concerning my experiences, involvement, journey and learning that were the implications of being a part of the group. 3INDIVIDUAL PORTFOLIO REFLECTION Introduction The study is a reflective narrative of my involvement with a group that was set with the task of entrepreneurial audit of an organization. I reflect upon my participation in the group processes for entrepreneurial audit of the Greenhouse Sports Company. The company is a non- profit organization established in 2002. The person who started the organization was Michael de Giorgio. The company organized high-quality sports events focused on promoting healthier lifestyles among all the students of London. The focus of these events was to develop essential abilities among the students that were mainly from underprivileged communities. The important aim of the events were to develop them mentally, socially, physically and emotionally. The audit aimed to help the organization to develop sustainable growth strategies for the future. The group process and journey The group process was very important as it was directly connected with the success of the Greenhouse Sports organization. The programs that the organization undertook focused towards changing the lifestyles of youths, mainly students in London. I and my team’s work was important as we were set with the task of evaluating, analyzing and undertaking activities that focused on the future growth strategies of the organization. According to Allen (2015) the key factors that should be considered for establishing better control over large tasks are outcomes that are clearly defined and reminders that are provided through regularly reviewed trusted systems. As the organization was an NGO there were various significant aspects of its functions that needed to be considered for the effective analysis of the Challenge. I faced some initial problems with the methods that were used for the project. The group process incorporated assigning of roles to specific individuals to enhance the prospects of a unified team engagement.

I had to attend the session in which these functions were carried out. The group process was enhanced through proper coordination. For this the group relied on the usage of effective technology, data management and efficient reminder systems. According to Senge (1991) most of the issues that people face while completing tasks is due to the inability to incorporate systems thinking. System thinking uses a holistic process to understand given tasks. I took to help of this process to make my contribution worthwhile by taking guidance from the team. I engaged in activities of survey gathering. I interacted with the people and had discussions with them in relation to what the organization was planning to do and how it would affect the community positively.The authorities of the organization were very much understanding and coordinated very effectively with us. I contributed to the process by taking significant roles in both the survey procedure and the meeting with the authorities. Some of the most important things that I got to learn from the activities were related to the various methods that were used for the analysis. I got to learn about methods such as mind mapping and brainstorming. Mind maps are graphical ways in which ideas and concepts related to a particular study can be effectivelypresented.Ithelpstoessentiallystructuretheinformationforbetteranalysis considering all the vital ideas that are connected with the study. Another significant method that I got to learn was Brainstorming. This method was utilized as new ideas needed to be formed in order to help in the formation of strategies to gather information for Greenhouse. I found that visualizing the ideas is important as it created an environment of clarity concerning all the significant aspects that need to be developed. Brainstorming helped me to create a portfolio for the organization through which the group was able to sort out the major ideas and link them with the significant findings.If the activities are measured, the most important activity was to interact

This was because only though interaction could the organization be both promoted and feedback be gathered.The next most important thing was to identify the gaps in the functional aspects of the organization through this research. Moving forward gathering the feedback of the local community for the organization was very important for learning. Interaction with the entrepreneurs Interactionswiththehigherauthoritiesoftheorganizationwasveryimportant. Organization tend to rely the most on the decision making abilities of the higher authorities, especially the entrepreneurs (Teece 2000). As a significant part of my job in the group I had to interact with the entrepreneur and the higher authorities. The job function required me to inform the authorities of any progress that has been reported.My job role required me to effectively communicate the implications that have been gathered at each step of the analysis process of the organizationalenvironment.Iconsideredinteractingwiththeorganizationasaverybig responsibility. This was because I was committed to the cause of both the organization and the group at the same time. The higher authorities of the Green House Sports Organization were very considerate and friendly. Understanding the organizational philosophy was an important part of the task that I and my group were assigned. In the opinion of Maurya (2016) startup businesses should know what to measure as this can ultimately govern their performances. Business model canvas according to the author was a good way to start as business as it covers all the metrics that can affect the organizational progress. In case of the Greehouse sports, it was still a startup with relatively more marketing experience.The interaction helped me to understand the views of the authorities

The authorities were interested in discussing the proceeds that we received from the survey and the analysis. I was able to greatly develop my communication levels. They maintained effective communication with the group throughout the process of gathering information and analysis (Frederiksen and Brem 2017). Moreover, my focus was on gathering essential insights about the needs of the management. Their philosophy of operation was important for the group to know as that provided us with the kind of sustainability recommendation that would be the best for the organization. Firstly, the organization said that they are not much focused towards marketing. From this the group got to know that the company had a significant gap in their marketing functions. Secondly around the third meeting with the organizational heads it was found that did not use social media as a marketing or promotional tool. Thirdly, it was identified that the marketing team had not been effective in forming strong marketing strategies.All these aspects are very much important fortheessentialpromotionoforganizations.Itisalwaysimportanttoestablishproper communication with the organization at these situations as the flaws in the operational systems can only be understood through proper interactions (Ireland, Kuratko and Morris 2006). I learnt significantlessonsabouttheroleofleadershipsindeterminingtheeffectivenessof organizational systems. Recommendations for future sustainability of project The Greenhouse Sports organization was found to be a positively motivated organization. However, they had significant flaws that need to be addressed if they are to achieve greater

Sustainable functional development is important for organizations as it can determine the growth path that organizations would take in the future. If the growth paths are uncertain it might lead to the closure of business in the near or distant future. Lack of marketing effectiveness was identified as a crucial flaw that could have led Greenhouse to failure in the distant future. I was able to gather significant implications from the entire process of the entrepreneurial audit. Some important recommendations could be made to the organization in regards to the same. As per the audit carried out by the group an important sustainability step was promotion and branding. Promotion and branding helps to increase the interactions that are much necessary to promote the activities of the organization. The sustainability of the project can be enhanced in the future through opportunity and environment based marketing and promotion. According to me it becomes important to keep on reviewing the marketing and promotional activities and strategies. Marketing functions should be enhanced through the employment of dedicated marketing teams that would take part in effective market research from time to time. Digital marketing is the marketing technique that is growing in potential. In the future effective marketing might not be possible without significant digital marketing (Kuratko, Hornsby and Hayton 2015). Hence, it becomes important that this kind of marketing technique is essentially established as a norm for both the promotional and marketing functions of the organization. It is important to understand the effect of social media on the target audience. The organization in continuation and extension of its digital marketing functions should keep a significant presence in the social media.I believe it’s important to promote the future events among the larger target audience.

I found that this helps in building a strong and sustainable bond with the local community. The learning that has been gathered from the entire process will help me in the future to participate effectively in more such assignments. The learning of the various methods that I have gathered would help me to build a strong career as an analyst or researcher. It is important to use all the learnings that I been able to gather on the ground level assignments that in future I would need to handle. In essence the entire task was very effective for me in learning the various things in life and professional practices. This will not only motivate me to enhance my future performances but at the same time it would help me to become an effective professional in my field of occupation. I want to grow further and the learning I gained would help in my future pursuits. Conclusion The implications that I gathered from my involvement in the project provided essential insightsintotheorganizationalaspectsofmanagement,leadership,communicationand marketing and promotions. It became evident that sustainable development paths cannot be formed for organizations unless effective marketing and promotion functions can be maintained. It is important to note that as a result of the entrepreneurial audit positive reviews in regards to the work of the organization could be gathered. It also became evident that using channels that are mostly used by the target audiences are very important for the effective promotion of the events of any non-profit organization. Greenhouse Sport can be more successful if a full time marketing team is involved in promoting the organization.
