Dear all,
Introduction
The reason of writing this letter is to make you all aware about the SDG goals which
company is used and recommending a strategic plan of action on why and how to respond or
engage with UN SDG. The main motive of writing this letter is to provide the critical approach
towards sustainability and provide a roadmap of strategic action until 2030 for Tata Motors. As,
currently the company is affecting three SDG goals in both positive and negative manner. Such
that company focused on three goals i.e. reduce inequalities, Responsible consumption and
Production, climate change. Like, the industry have many branches which always take care of all
the eight SFG among all, it mainly focus on the climate change and for that it focus in the low
carbon growth and zero pollution Transportation, for that it start working on electrical vehicles.
Thus, currently the company did not affect the SDG in negative manner but it makes an effort to
use all the 17 SDG. There is a need to care all these goals because it serve as a guidelines for a
business in order to assess and manage the social, economical and environmental risk which in
turn help to sustain the brand image of the company and its strategic position within a market.

Introduction

company is used and recommending a strategic plan of action on why and how to respond or
engage with UN SDG. The main motive of writing this letter is to provide the critical approach

Thus, currently the company did not affect the SDG in negative manner but it makes an effort to
use all the 17 SDG. There is a need to care all these goals because it serve as a guidelines for a
business in order to assess and manage the social, economical and environmental risk which in
turn help to sustain the brand image of the company and its strategic position within a market.
Company Description
Tata Motors is one of the top company in India and due to having strong financial
condition, it creates positive impact upon the SDG i.e. its 3 goals. Such that for Reduce
inequality, the company actually used the technology in order to provide best job opportunities to
people without differentiating them. But under this, company face issues i.e. individuals who are
disable face obstacles like monsoon, distance and travel time and this affect the overall business
(Tata Motors SDG, 2019). Further, for the goal, 12, Tata Motors implement product portfolio
analysis tool in order to understand the lifestyles and provide innovative products to the
customers. Such that it also apply modular design so that products constituent parts will be easily
separated or re-used. For climate change, Tata Motors developing a fleet of fuel cell buses which
is based upon the hybrid platform series so that public gets clean transportation.
Currently, the company is mainly focus on the reducing the pollution by provide advance
technology vehicles and also start working on reducing carbon footprints of operations. Such that
Tata Motors has increased the share of renewable energy from 16.34% to 20 of total electricity
consumption. Not only this, at current situation, the company also strengthening the waste
management and work on 3 R’s I.e. recycling, reuse and recovery. Further, the company also
encourages people to use eco- friendly material so that it will not cause any negative impact upon
environment (Power, 2020). As the company is engaged in manufacturer of motor vehicles and it
is engaged In business of automobile products which consist of commercial and passenger
vehicles and its business model is as mention below:
