Introduction
Bombardier Transportation Australia Pty. Ltd. sells and manufactures rolling stock for
railways in Australia. The headquarter of the organization is in Melbourne and is one of the
subsidiaries of Bombardier Transportation GmbH. The organization is one of the largest
organization in the development of railway equipment and service providers. The organization
has its headquarters in Germany and has expanded its business in all the major countries all over
the world. Bombardier transportation was established in the year of 1974 and stared it operation.
The organization has acquired a lot of companies to expand their base of operation and Adtranz
is one such organization which was acquired in the year of 2001. However, the organization was
going through a phase of financial crisis and were forced to split the organization. Thus,
Bombardier Transportation became a separate public company in the year of 2015
(Bombardier.com 2017).
Functions and services
The organization has also been engaged in supply, designing, railway signal installation,
installation of control system, equipment installation, selling and import of component of
electrical plants, engineering services that are general and, maintenance of light rail vehicles and
railway rolling stock. This shows that the organization is involved in manufacturing of all sorts
of passenger rail carriers and locomotives. However, the organization has been providing various
services such as maintenance, train operation and provides equipment to various countries. Thus,
they provide maintenance for various train units and at the same time has been bale to generate
