INDUSTRY PRACTICUM HOSPITALITY 1
Reflective Report
The hospitality industry supported the consumers to make their life comfortable. At
the time of working in the Hilton Sydney, I gained my understanding of the many policies
that are practiced by the firm to retain their employees. These policies are associated with
motivation, communication, and working hours (Ram, 2018). I observed that Hilton has
conduct suitable behaviour to their employees for making a transparent relationship. I worked
as the customer service operator in the Hilton, I observed that an employee more concentrate
on the working atmosphere and remuneration policy.
These two policies could more be influenced by the employee for retaining the
consumers. At the time of working in the Glass Brasserie, I observed that the organization
could use a certain tool in the attainment of the organizational task and increase the
competitiveness of the firm to operate a business. I also gained my understanding about how
the remuneration packages could affect to the employee retention. If an organization could
not consider the competitive remuneration package then it could increase the employee
turnover in the working place as it would also decline the sale of the firm (Robinson,
Ruhanen& Breakey, 2016). The organization has practiced different measurement tool by
which an organization could improve the retention level, as it could be associated with
performance appraisal system and motivation tool.
It could improve the organizational procedure. I also improved my knowledge of how
an employee could give their best contribution to the organization. It is examined that staff
empowerment is effective for conducting the study in an effective manner. Staff
empowerment is effective in obtaining a feasible research outcome. The staff empowerment
could give an opportunity to the workforces for using their own way to complete the
allocated task (Felicen, Rasa, Sumanga, & Buted, 2014).
