Executive Summary
The aims to shows the financial applications and information systems in the retail industry. To
fulfil this purpose, the main company chosen for the report has been depicted with the use of
Wesfarmers. The main forms of the important depictions pertaining to the study has been seen
with the use of the various types of the data such as the impact of social media on the business.
Secondly the report has been also able to highlight on the implication of the data on business.
The discourse of the study has shown the discussion both in general and relating the same to
Wesfarmers. Some of the main aspect of the study has been able to state on the impact of social
media on business. The depiction made in the study has found that social media such as
Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest have a considerable amount of influence in creating brand
awareness in stating the various types of the needs for the business which are seen to be
associated to creating brand awareness, humanize the brand, establishing the brand and
monitoring of the website traffic. The findings on the impact of the data on the business has been
shown with the assistance in the decision making which can be obtained with the decision
making.
