2.0 Community Legal Centres Queensland
The purpose of this agency is to provide help to community centers in Queensland. It
supports and advocates for over thirty legal centers.

Role
Provision of free information, legal assistance, and education. To develop and promote the legal
centers. To facilitate effective and seamless communication between the community centers and
finally to secure funding.
Functions
Acquiring information and providing it for free for the community centers. Legal assistance and
referral services. The agency also educates and advocates for clients who are vulnerable and
communities that have found themselves in legal problems. The agency also does casework and
representation.
Services Provided
 Addressing law reform issues;
 Coordinating between the state and insurance companies to formulate solutions for members
of the public;
 Mobilisation of volunteers and training on matters that are of interest and that affect members
of the public;
 Involving the public in its day to day activities in a bid to increase public participation and
awareness.
 The agency also encourages members of the public to participate in the management of the
centre so that they can feel part of it.

7.0 BDVS -Brisbane Domestic Violence Service.
This is a service is confidential for residents of the town. The services provided are for the
whole society and support, men, women and children. Their main role is to ensure every person has
an environment which is safe and secure.
The services they deliver are informing relevant persons, for instance victims and
