Introduction
GDPR refers to the general data protection regulation which is a kind
of data protection regulation in the European Union. It provides a way to
control and handle the security issues occurred in the servers and help
business communities to protect data from hackers. In Jamaican many
businesses, communities use the GDPR guidelines for enhancing the privacy
of data by reducing the level of cyber-crimes and threats (Voigt, & Von,
2017). The purpose of the research is to determine the concept behind
GDPR regulation and evaluate their importance in business communities.
This paper will include two sections such as GDPR and the impact of GDPR
on the tourism industry in Jamaican.
GDPR
GDPR provides numerous guidelines and policies in regard to the
security of data and helped the companies to control and address the
security concerns occurred in the workplace. The major purpose of GDPR is
to design and implement more consistent protection of user and private
data across the European Union. There are various kinds of key data
protection requirements are included in the GDPR sections which are
highlighted below:
Needing the consent of subjects for data processing
Delivering data breach and hacking announcement to the consumers
Anonymizing gathered information to protect security from the
criminals
Effectively handling and evaluating data transmission processes
Needing several companies to appoint and develop a data security
officer to oversee GDPR obedience.
